Yes, it plays mp3, dvds, etc... but the user interface is SO UGLY... really, it's like taken from the movie Tron. And it's important to say that i love Tron. Come on, it's not the year 1999. The iPod controls are so old it's barly imposible to find a song it you have a big library. Another flaw is that there is no outside screen, so u ALWAYS have to have the ugly screen out, and trust me, you get sick of it. I wouldn't recomend it. Look for one you can read while closed, and ith a UI at least a little bit nice.

Delivery date was almost a month from date of purchase and product was still late (my credit card was charged when purchased). After multiple requests for a tracking #, the seller responded. However, the tracking # wasn't activated for almost 2 weeks after his response. During this time, I asked him to cancel my order and refund my $$. I did not receive a response, but several days later the product FINALLY shipped. When the product arrived, it was wrapped in a plastic bag, rolling around in a box with absolutely no packing material or padding. This was by far the worst service I have EVER received from an Amazon seller. I would caution anyone else from buying from this person.

I rated the item a 4, but only because it seems to be in good working order. However, I would have rated the service a 0.

I've had this drill for a few years and it has been reliable. Both of my batteries no longer hold a charge so I went online for new batteries and 2 batteries cost the same as a whole new drill with two batteries. What is up with that? I guess I'll buy a new one and have two drills and two batteries.

I would recommend this drill to anyone - from the homeowner for occasional use, to the professional who needs an everyday drill. I owned this drill for years until both of the batteries finally lost their charge (Because they are so expensive to replace, I opted for an "upgrade"...). Before this drill I owned the non-hammerdrill 14.4v version, and both were great workhorses. When the PC batteries died, I sold the drill on craigslist and decided to upgrade to the Hitachi 18v hammerdrill. What a disappointment. The PC had nearly the same power (torque) but was much lighter to carry around. As a home remodeler, I lug my drill around all day every day and I now appreciate the lighter weight of the old PC. (see my review on the Hitachi for it's many other faults). The PC is well balanced in your hand, the grip-to-fit is nice, although I just stayed with the Medium fitting that it came with, and the battery life seems average. I lent this drill to a, a-hem, friend, once and it was returned with stripped gears. Being under warranty, the service shop was able to replace the broken parts for free and the drill rocked for many moons to follow. Again, highly recommended.

I have used this thing for five years and it is wonderful. I use it for concrete and masonry drilling as well as wood. It also works very well as a driver. The variable speed trigger and the torque setting make it a breeze to use. Batteries are easily changed and the included charger is very quick. An hour or less. Came with two batteries so while using one the other is charging. Never wanted an upgrade to more powerful drivers and this does everything I ask of it. Porter Cable did it right with this tool.

You can't go wrong with Porter-Cable tools. Always reliable, and great value for an honest price. You can pay more for "Ultra-Power DesignerPro" brands, and they work well too. But not "better". Buy ***American Made*** Porter-Cable, and you will have money left for more tools, and the pride of supporting USA!

I've used many cordless drills in my time and Porter Cable has been my favorite brand of all. This drill is replacing my old 12 volt Porter Cable drill that has given me many years of great service.

This drill features a "Hammer Drill" feature that is great for masonry work. It is also a regular drill and bit driver. There is torque to spare and a handle brace that screws into the side for extra support when the torque gets overwhelming or just for extra steadiness.

The grip comes with different size inserts for different size hands. A very nice extra!

You won't be sorry with this drill. The trigger is very smooth and it's easy to control the speed of the drill. I think it also looks better than the other bizzare coloring and designs some of the other manufacturers use. This looks, feels, and acts like a professional tool.

I am a full-time carpenter.

This is a professional quality drill/driver, with metal gears, heavy-duty trigger switch, ratcheting chuck with carbide teeth. It has heft and although some might complain about its weight, anything that generates over 400 in. lbs. of torque and doesn't fall apart after 40 hrs. of hard use HAS to weigh something, right?

I read an April 2005 review on 'premium' vs. 'homeowner' grade cordless drills and was interested to see that in nearly every photo of a disemboweled premium drill, said premium drill was the Porter-Cable. It's built to last.

Here's what to watch out for:

1) If you charge the batteries, then don't use them for a few days, your amp hours will be far lower than if you charge the batteries and use them the same day. I don't get quite as much run time out of the batteries as I would like, but I am doing mean things to my drill, like running a 3/4" x 16" masonry bit in hammer/drill mode and leaning into the poor little drill, driving 1/2" x 12" lag screws into pressure-treated wood, drilling holes through 20 oz. copper and tin in -5˚ weather....and so on. When used for what I imagine is a more appropriate application, like driving sheetrock screws into sheetrock, the batteries last long enough for me to wonder when they'll die so I can take five.

2) The HIGH/LOW switch. Works great, but one day I somehow left it in between settings: i.e., in the middle, not on HIGH or LOW, and the drill made a horrendous racket and would not drive anything to save its life. Convinced the drill was completely shot, I began hunting for the case so I could take it back to Home Depot and give them puppy dog eyes. At some point I noticed that the switch was not engaged in either range, flicked it to LOW and all was right with my world again.

3) Despite the all-metal chuck with carbide jaws, things still fall out of it ocassionally. This and the less-than-an-18v battery time warrants fours stars instead of five. Yes, I really crank on the chuck when tightening a bit. For a 14.4 volt drill that I bought new at Home Depot for $100, I'd give it five stars with no caveats. (Home Depot was discontinuing the line and I got lucky).

A few +s you might not know about:
The drill has an automatic brake, so when you take your finger off the switch the chuck comes to a complete stop. The onboard bit storage is not a gimmick and gets constant use (I usually have a #3 Phillips and square drive bits onboard and a #2 Phillips in the chuck, covering 95% of all driving applications). The charger is a diagnostic, 'smart-charger,' which means it knows to NOT charge when the battery is too cold, too hot, or just plain worn out (haven't seen that yet). And, unlike cheaper drills, there is more heavy-weight copper in this tool than a jug of pennies.

Note: Treat yourself to a DeWalt, Ryobi, Sears--whatever-- quick-release 1/4" bit chuck. You chuck it in the drill and leave it in. Then, use the drill bits, Phillips drivers, etc. that have the notched speed shank and changing bits is lightning-fast--much faster than ratcheting the drill's chuck. I have the DeWalt (because it's bright yellow and I can find it if I drop it, not because it's a DeWalt) and it's been great.

That's about it. This drill has enough torque to sprain your wrist, snap heads off stainless steel deck screws, drive 1.5" spade bits through mahogany, and push big masonry bits into concrete (although using said bits in hammer mode really drained the power, and fast). It won't replace my 1/2" Milwaukee corded drill completely but the Porter Cable is what I reach for 90% of the time. If $ is no object, get the Milwaukee Lok-Tor 18v; it has received top reviews from several trade magazines and will drill more holes on a charge than the Porter-Cable, being 18 volts vs. 14.4. If its chuck is the same as on my corded Milwaukee it holds like a pit bull on a mailman.

UPDATE: I have used the drill a few times and I could not be happier. I like this drill so much that when it came time to by a reciprocating saw I went with a PC (See my other reviews). OK...I have not even used the drill yet but opening reaction is great. I ordered mine off of amazon.com because I couldn't find a better price, only one hardware store in the Twin Cities area had the drill in stock and wanted $25 more than amazon.com. So saving $25 off of cost, do not have to drive 25 miles to store, do not have to pay tax and get free shipping, only down fall is the 10 day wait.

Case

Case seems sturdy with metal case latches, not cheap molded plastic. Storage for extra bits and manual slot is a definate plus. All batteries, side handle, charger and of course drill fit very well. Problem with the case is the extra "grip to fit" (GTF) plates do not fit in the bit storage compartment.

Ergonomics

My drill came with the large GTF insert, that was changed quickly. I have small hands so the small insert is very nice for myself. GTF is great because a friend of mine with pretty large hands found the large insert to be helpful so this drill is not a one size fits one its a many sizes fits many. Switching from forward to reverse is a snap, a bit clip on either side of the drill along with the side bar that secures tightly to either side too. Balance is a little forward moving but that is good for drilling and with the hammer drill option what do you really expect. The battery removal is not as easy for this drill compared to many other brands. The battery slides horizontally into position with a smaller release button. This is good for the fact if you do hit the release button the battery will not fall directly to the floor and you will have a chance to catch it as it slides back.

Construction

Seems sturdy, chuck is well constructed. Not made of cheap metal and plastic. Compared to other brands on the same caliber like bosch the PC seems like a tank, not weight but construction. Feels more solid.

Rep

Reputation of great PC tools for about 100 years. I almost purchased the Bosch 14.4 but my brother-in-law owns a 12v PC and loves it, swears by it so I went wih PC. Also, Bosch 14.4 doesn't have Hammer drill option or sidebar, you would have to go up to the 18v tank and shell out more money.

Power

I have wrenched on a couple bolts to much and snapped the head clear off. I recently have been building a deck and my drill has performed great. I feel the battery holds up pretty well.

I purchased this hammer drill after the death of my Black & Decker 18v Firestorm. Initially, I had considered similar products from Matika and DeWalt, wanting the additional capability of the hammer action, with the smaller bulk of the 14.4v battery. The Porter Cable GTF comes in fairly robust case, complete with a diagnostic charger, stabilizing handle, 2 batteries, driver bit and different size (S,M,L) adjustable hand grip inserts. I found the drill some what hefty, with it's balance just forward of the hand grip; which is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.Power Offering 420 in-lbs of torque (50 in-lbs more than the Matika and 20 in-lbs more than the Dewalt 14.4v hammer drills) it has plenty of power and will easily snap the head off a 4" deck screw driven into a railway sleeper. The high/low settings will give you 450-1400rpm, and in hammer action 18500bpm. Battery life was excellent, allowing me to do several hours of deck work before swapping batteries. The charging unit can recharge your dead battery in approx. 1hr, it will also analyze the condition of your battery for optimal performance.Handling As mentioned before, I felt this was heavy drill. It does not balance as well as the Dewalt or Matika, which is probably why it feels heavier, though it certainly not unmanageable; much smaller than the enormous 18v Craftsman drill, that thing is a whopper. However, because of it's forward weight, using the hammer action vertically is really easy. There is also the option of swapping out the hand grip inserts, which helped reduce fatuige on the hands and wrists. Ergonomically speaking, fine. The stabilizer handle screws into either the left or right side of the drill which is a tremendous help when using the hammer action. Either way you are still going to develop your biceps - just make sure you use both hands.Controls The forward/reverse button is directly above the trigger control, as per usual. The motor has the high/low switch located on top of the motor housing. It would have been nice to have an extra third gear, like the DeWalt - but not essential. The clutch collar has variable torque setting's (22) with the drill and hammer action located next to each other. The battery is removed by way of a red button on the bottom flange of the grip. Depressing this button, the battery easily slides off. The battery is securely held in place buy this same locking button.Chuck All steel 1/2" ratcheting chuck lock and spindle lock. The one thing I like over the Dewalt, is the fact the jaws will easily grip a small 1/16" or 3/32" drill bit. The DeWalts chuck jaws cannot clamp on small bits such as these, because of the gap where the jaws meet.Quality/Overall The drill is well built and solid feeling. Fit and finish are excellent, there are one or two tiny (hair width) gaps where the metal gear housing meets the plastic body, otherwise fine. It feels like it was built twice as strong as in needs to be. I did forget to mention it has two metal clips to store your driver bits. Costing...$...less than the DeWalt or Matika, it's worth every penny. For home owners just wanting to drive screws and occasional home maintenance, there are much better less costly alternatives. However, if you are looking for a true, solid work horse for frequent heavy usage and occasional defense against bumps-in-the-night, I highly recommend it.

Exelant tool, this is one of my favorite saws. I,ve been a carpenter
for 20 years now and own and use over 10 differant electric powered saws
that I use regulary on any given job. The Porter Cable Saw Boss has the power to cross cut and rip 2 X matierial that I otherwise would have to use a worm drive drive saw to do. It,s the lighter weight and size that is so useful, AND THE BLADE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE of the motor, most saws of this type have the blade on the right side, the point is you can see what the blade is doing (if you are right handed ). My go to saw that is allways in the truck. Oh, and it's heavy duty biult TOO.

I bought this saw back in 1996 and I don't think I could be happier with it. Being that 99.9% of the time I cut nothing more than sheet goods or 2x material at 45º the small size and light weight of the Saw Boss is perfect for me. That being said and as much as I love and recommend this saw if you often have the need to cut stock of thicker dimensions than the Saw Boss is capable of then obviously a good 7 1/4" would definitely be the way I' go.

The strong points of this saw are most importantly the small size, light weight and right-hand drive. In my younger days on jobsites I "prided" myself on being "the man" slinging around heavy tools like they were nothing but in my older and much wiser days I truly appreciate the virtues of something smaller and lighter but still as capable. This saw is an absolute pleasure to use and the right-hand drive gives us righties a perfect view of the cut line.

As for negatives I personally don't have any. This saw, as with any and every tool, has limits and within those limits it excels. Some have stated the lack of blade options as a negative but I must disagree. Not only does Porter Cable offer an 18T rip and and 40T crosscut blade ( I have both and they are more than acceptable) but Freud also offers both a 20T rip and 40T crosscut blade. Truthfully, what more do you need for a circular saw?

As for the comments about the saw being underpowered I honestly don't understand how that can be. I'm not out to call anyone a liar but any sort of 2x material is no match for 9 full amps and a thin kerf carbide blade - my personal experience has confirmed that repeatedly.

All said and done if the majority of your sawing involves nothing more than 2x at 90º or 45º and/or sheet goods then I think you'd truly appreciate the beauty of the Saw Boss and I'd venture to say it would be a welcome addition to your gang box or garage but if you frequently saw anything out the the Saw Boss's limits then it, again obviously, would be a questionable investment for me or anyone.

The 345 is a well sized circular saw for most jobs. The lefthand configuration provides great access for viewing the cut (but wear safety glasses), if you're a righthanded user.

On the negative side, the price tag is high and the blade selection and availability are limited. The base plate is unimpressive, similar to the sheet metal plates found on B&D and Skil saws

I bought my 345 used for $25, so I'm quite happy. If I had paid $140~150 for a new unit, I would be much less impressed.

Great light-weight saw for both contractors and homeowners. Not for framing, but very versatile for tight spaces.

As always, Porter Cable is one of the best.

I've had this saw for about 6 years now and have grown to love it. I've always used 7 1/4" saws, usually worm drives, but after doing a remodel a few years ago with a friend of mine who had one of these saws, I had to get one for myself. At first I wasn't sure because it is so light and I was not sure if it would hold up over time. Well, after a lot of use and and a few saw blades, it is the first saw I usually grab when planning a job. Like any saw, keep the blades sharp and it cuts like butter. Use the bigger saws for heavy loads like 4X material and you'll be happy. Great little saw!

I've had this saw for about a year now and it I'm very dissapointed with it. It behaves as if the saw doesn't have enough power. As I'm cutting, the saw gets bogged down almost everytime I cut something substantial. I'm not talking about oak or any other hardwoods here, just regular old 2X4's! I'm stuck with it now, but wish I had bought the skil after hearing the raves about it. My old refurbished skil I bought for $29 in high school(1984) is still far superior and now this one sits and collects dust. If you're thinking blade, I tried that, doesn't seem to matter. Good luck with whatever you decide upon.

Back when I framed I hauled around a SkillSaw worm drive. As soon as I could I sold it to someone younger and stronger. I have known 2 people that framed their houses with the Saw Boss. I just finished building my shop with this and I still like it. If you have to get on the roof with a saw you sould have this one.

The saw is well worth its price. It will rip through PT without slowing down. One of the reasons that I bought it was because the blade is on the left side of the motor and I really like that feature. The blade's cut is visable without craning my neck. The angle and depth for the blade adjustment are a snap to use and changing the blade is easy enough too. The little sawdust shoot has clogged up a couple of times, but it was simple and quick to remove and clean out. I am a woman, so the weight of the saw was an important detail. This saw handles beautifully. It is lightweight, but does the job.

Nice little saw. MUCH easier to handle than my 7.25" B&D. I don't miss the difference in cutting depth since I really only cut sheet goods and 2x4's with it. The thin kerf blade really zips through 3/4" plywood with little tearing. The stamped sheet metal base is a little wimpy--would have preferred cast aluminum--but it works fine, really. All adjustments are easy and precise. The dust collection pipe works well, too. I would buy it again. Minus one star for the base--picky, picky.

I love this saw ,the dust nozzle is a great feture , this saw combines all the good features that you need , you have more them ample power, blade on the left for increased cutting accurcacy and compared to all the other skil saws ive used this saw is very lite wieght, espically compared to the mag77 and older skil profesonal with all steel housing and shoe

Great price. Arrived in perfect condition and on time. BTW - paid for Amazon's two day shipping for the year and it has been a good deal, have bought many tools, etc., and if the right size, they always come on the second day.

Very fine machine. Buy it with the dust removal kit - worth the price and then some.

I make furniture in a basement shop, so dust removal is a matter of concern, so, this machine delighted me. I hooked it up through my Festool vacuum system (with has an automatic swtich)(the hose in the sander box connects perfectly with the adaptor provided) and have sanded many square feet of white oak and hard maple with grits ranging from 80 to 220. I think it is a better at nearly finish work than stock removal. I am very satisfied with this machine - the variable speeds are key depending upon the grit used and whether the wood is rough or not.

It is a manageable tool and a sturdy one. The cord is a good length and so is the dust hose. The Festool RO Sander may be better at stock removal, but it is twice the price.

Norm Abrams recommends sanding across the grain first, than diagonally, and then with the grain. This method works great with this Porter Cable sander.

If you've read my other reviews, you know I own a lot of sanders (more than I've been able to review, actually), and this is one of them.

This sander has been around for years and does a great job. The old version was made in the U.S.A., but the new version is made in Mexico, NOT the U.S. as the information on Amazon states. There are more plastic parts on the newer model, but nothing to worry about.

The new model also has variable speed and dust collection, although it does NOT have an included template for punching PSA sheets, or an included PSA pad, for that matter. I think it's because P-C markets the unit as a polisher, and hook-and-loop polishing pads work great, while PSA polishing pads wouldn't work so well if they were available. Talking about "not available," there is no punch for this machine; you have to make your own out of a block of wood and some bolts.

This unit is now incorrectly labeled a "random orbit" sander, when it's really a "dual action" sander, meaning the orbits aren't really random, and regular swirl marks exist. However, dual action sanders leave much less noticeable marks, and produce a much better finish than orbital sanders.

Variable speed is a great feature for not melting varnish when sanding it, and for not taking off a load of stock instantly. Being a bigger guy I can use the sander with one hand, but be aware it is a monster at full speed and will consume wood quickly.

The sander is relatively light for this type of sander, pretty quiet, and relatively vibration free. Realize this is a lot of sander, so it's not exactly light, quiet, or completely vibration free, but it's the best sander you can buy in its class. It's also much more controllable than a 6" sander, and when combined with the variable speed it can handle most any sanding or polishing job well.

I immediately bought the PSA pad (for keeping edges square) and contoured PSA pad (for rounded edges). PSA paper is about 1/2 the price of hook-and-loop, and a torn piece of PSA won't immediately ruin the PSA pad, unlike hook-and-loop.

The case is huge, as another reviewer put it, but not large enough to store boxed pads. You can fit two unboxed pads in two corners, the handle in the third corner, and the fourth corner is molded for the vacuum adapter.

The results from this sander are the best I've found for a dual-action, and the sander is built well. Buy it; you'll probably love it.

If it came with a both hook-and-loop and pressure sensitive adhesive pads, and a hole punch plate, I'd give it 5 stars, even if the box couldn't hold boxed pads.

Great sander, quite aggressive, so select your #grit carefully. The variable speed control gives a nice amount of control over the work. It does tend to get heavy after a while, but it does the business.

The dust collection system on this is pretty good. Hooked up to a shopvac, the only escaping dust is when you first put the sander to the surface.

I would recommend a few careful adjustments so as not to over heat the shop vac though - the 2" hose supplied is less than half the size of my shopvac hose. This cuts down airflow to the shopvac, making it work overtime - something that will burn the motor out fast.

I drilled a couple of holes in the supplied adapter, to increase airflow, the shopvac stopped whining so badly and there was no perceived change in cleanup...

Oh, and it's quite quiet - as far as sanders go, doesn't have that high pitch shreak associated with palm or belt sanders, even when it's running on full power.

Other reviewers accurately reflect my favorable opinion of this random orbit sander but I did get a surprise when the item arrived: the storage case is HUGE! When purchasing the kit version of this sander you get the vacuum hose and, yep, a storage case designed to hold the sander and all of the dust collection components--including the hose. It is a monster-sized box.

"Buy" the way, Amazon would NOT match woodworker.com's lower price on the PC 97355. The problem I had when I called to get the price match was that the person with Amazon's Tool Crib department pretended to be a klutz with web surfing and was unable to even locate the 97355 on woodworker.com's website (I finally had to give her the URL) and then she pretended to be unable to figure out that woodworker.com would provide free shipping if you had come to their site using the URL provided thru toolseeker.com (as I had). Bottom line: Amazon wouldn't price match. Result: I bought from woodworker.com who not only saved me significant bucks but also shipped the product the very same day! My recent experiences (read that more than one) with Amazon's "SuperSaver" shipping (their version of free shipping) have been a 5 - 7 day DELAY on shipping of products listed as "Usually Ships within 24 hours". When I questioned Amazon about this they defended this practice as their way to save money. My advice: Go to woodworker.com and save yourself even more money and get your stuff shipped the same day instead of one week later.

I've been using this sander for nearly thirteen years with out a problem. It removes stock very aggresively. Great tool!!!!!!

I have been using this sander for about 6 years and have nothing but good things to say. I have sanded down old log homes, hardwood floors, steel trailers ,bondo on cars,and fine woodworking projects. This has been my most loaned out tool. and im always happy to do it with this sander. I am the most satified customer on this product. The dust collection is one of the best one the market. I have owned three so far and lost them due to different reasons. But, never to wear. First thing to do is get rid of the hook and loop. The adhesive pad is so much better because of the hook and loop cant handle the power. Buy this tool and you wont ever regrete it.

Another good sander from porter cable that does the job well. However, they placed the switch in such a way that about every 50 hours or so of use the on/off switch clogs up with dust, so either you must plug/unplug the machine to turn on and off, or take apart housing and clean under switch.

This series of sanders are great tools. I thought that changing from the stikit sanding pad to hook and loop would enable me to change grits and allow reuse of the sanding disk, it does! But the drawback is if your sanding disc tears and you don't replace it immediately the hooks on the pad are destroyed. I've replaced four in the past year. The hook and loop system is much more expensive to operate because of this.

Owned the ancestor of this machine for twenty years and loved it. This one is just as well made. It is a beauty. The only drawback is that it does not have a temperature probe like the other one.

First one showed up. Door wouldn't open. Release mechanism was broken. An internet search shows I wasn't the only person with this problem. Amazon was great about arranging the return and delivering another. The old unit is packed and ready to go, but not yet dropped off at UPS, when the new unit arrives.

After saving some bucks on a cheaper, competitors product,and being totally unsatisfied with their product AND their customer service, I returned it to the "Big Box Store" and purchased this Panasonic from Amazon.com. As the Title states"You get what you pay for"!
Sure this cost more, but the quality is there along with the advertised claims. Not like the "other product".
Delivery was super fast.I've had this for two months now and NO regrets.

I bought this oven one week ago to replace a Sharp model R-930CS convection microwave, which I had been using for almost 2 years. The black display on the Sharp was hard to read and the microwave didn't work as well as the $79 one I use at work. It was really a leap of faith to buy another convection microwave expecting different results but I found an outstanding deal on Ebay so I took the plunge.

So far this oven has met all of my expectations. It heats my frozen entrees completely and it does a great job popping popcorn. It even has 3 different levels for popping different sized bags. The sensor reheat works well too.

I've even had a couple of happy surprises. First of all I noticed this oven is really nice looking. Not only are the buttons easier to read than the touchpad I used before but they have a stylish high quality appearance. I also like the ceramic turntable more than the metal one I had before. It may not contain large spills as well but I'm guessing it'll be easier to clean.

The biggest surprise for me has been how intuitive/user-friendly the controls have been. After selecting the function I want to use (e.g. microwave, convection, sensor cook, etc.), the next appropriate button or knob lights up so there's no need to read the text message to know which step to take next. I've barely had to refer to the instruction manual at all.

I haven't had a chance to use the convection oven yet so I'll have to come back and update my review when I do. I guess I'm just not as wary about the convection functions because all of the problems I had with my previous oven were related to the microwave functions. Of course reliability will take much longer to determine too. But so far so good!

Update after 3 months - This is definately the right oven for me. I've pretty much used all of its features now and I can't think of any negatives. The convection oven works great and the ceramic tray is a breeze to wash. I haven't regretted my decision for a moment.

I bought this oven to replace my microwave and I am very pleased. Its great to have a second oven and microwave all in one. I use the convection and microwave every day. It works great. High quality.

To the best of my knowledge this is the largest Microwave/Convection oven available that can be used counter-top or built in. We purchased one for our old house 20 years ago and it just died after much use. We were glad they still make the same product size wise but with many updates.

this is my second Panasonic and I love it. It is simple to use and does a great job.

but it does everything it's supposed to do, and it does it beautifully. I have to put on my glasses to read the button labels but less subtle labels would detract from the overall attractive appearance. Besides, the controls are intuitive and I almost have them memorized anyway. This is a terrific unit.

The order was lost in the mail but once I got in touch with the vendor to let them know I had not received anything, I was notified it was being refilled and got the package the following business day. It was handled excellently and I couldn't have been more satisfied.

I bought this with some hope that it would break the matting on turf grass, I wasn't even looking for aeration. This product is useless for either endeavor. A cinder block lacked the weight to punch through the grass. I modified the unit by welding two rods to the plate so I could attach weights. Started with 30lbs and still didn't work. At 60 lbs the unit worked but you could imagine pulling that weight around. This thing has a few design problems - if you pull it, you are lifting its weight off of the ground. If you push it, you might as well use no weight at all, your body acts as the weight. You will be guaranteed some exercise with that approach. Oh, I even tried sharpening the blades with a grinder. If you crawl on your hands and knees and use a hammer and nail, the results would be better.

Don't waste your money on this. They didn't even put enough thought into it as to have a standard cinder block fit on it. You will be breaking one up to make it fit, or find yourself at the hardware store looking for smaller ones to fit the platform. Even then, it doesn't seem to really dig into the ground well, even after watering. This is probably because it's more of a rolling motion than a downward motion. Sounds like a good idea, but not when it's put into practice.

After the first use (on a rain-soaked yard, as recommended), I'm a little disappointed. Placing a solid flat cinderblock on the platform, I was unable to PUSH the aerator without the teeth digging in and stopping forward movement altogether. So I had to PULL it instead. If not for the fact that I have a small yard (20' x 40'), this would have taken forever. It seems to "aerate" but compared to the "plug-style" machines, this is a poor substitute. (On the other hand, what would you expect for $40?)

What's good about this product? It's cheap, for one thing, and easy to pull out and run across the lawn without a lot of setup. Renting a power aerator is a big production. What's not great? Well, it's a bit flimsy, but so far is holding together. The tines aren't very sharp -- I took a grinding wheel to mine to encourage better soil penetration. It requires a pretty significant weight load to get any usable penetration depth. I usually load two cinder blocks lashed to the pedestal with a couple of tie-downs. Unfortunately, the pedestal isn't sized correctly to fit a standard cinder block, so you have to lash it down to keep them from falling off. On a sloped lawn, two blocks is quite a load to haul, but no worse than wrestling with a 250-lb. power aerator. I still rent the power aerator once a year, but now I run this device over the lawn once every couple of weeks for the rest of the season.

I recently purchased the Kuhn Rikon 5 Qt. Duromatic Top Model Pressure Cooker and was looking forward to using it, after having read through the user manual a couple times.

As instructed, when the pre-soaked chick peas came to a boil, I put the top on and locked it in place. The cooker then immediately produced a hissing sound and a continual release of steam.

The manual said this is not supposed to happen unless the cooker has reached maximum pressure, yet the pressure gauge hadn't begun to rise yet. I tried it a time or two more in case the immediate hissing and steam was just a normal release of whatever before the pressure began to build, but the hissing and steam would continue unabated.

I contacted Kuhn Rikon, and their response was quick. They offered, at their expense, to have the cooker shipped to them for evaluation and repair or replacement, which was impressive. I had already shipped it back to Amazon, however.

While it was disappointing that the cooker didn't seem to work, KR does seem to have good customer service, which is what the stars are for.

This Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker is a terrific addition to our kitchen. We have used it many, many times and have a 100% success rate with what we have made. We also had purchased Miss Vickie's Big Book of Pressure Cooker Recipes from Amazon and the information and recipes are excellent.

This was money well spent.

Pressure cooking really does save time when you need to cook something quickly.

Easy to use, fast, and amazing. Nothing to be scared off. It saves time, energy and creates beautiful flavors. While expensive, I see it as one timee investment that will last for 10+ years.

I have always been leery of pressure cookers, but my brother in law showed my his Rikon, and now that i have one, i have to agree. This is incredible. Quiet, and it does just what it says. I have used it for potatoes, roasts, and beans all perfect. The cook book that comes with it is excellent, and takes all the fear of using a pressure cooker away.

While more expensive them most, it is worth the extra, a good value.

The Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker Rocks! It is easy to use, to clean and it s a just a great way to cook....

Heavy Cast Aluminum Pressure Cooker/Canner

Okay... so I SHOULD have given this more thought before ordering this 15.5-qt canner. But I didn't. And I also relied on my daughter's preferences (smaller is better because she doesn't have a lot of storage space) since she'll end up inheriting it.

But since I'm the one who'll be using it more than she will (at least for now, since she has 3 kids under 7 years of age and little time for canning, among other things), I'm going to return this one and get the 21.5-qt. canner. I just can't see spending so much time, energy (mine), and fuel (gas stove) to end up with only 6 pints of food, since I prefer the Leifheit canning jars (Leifheit Canning Supplies 2-Cup Glass Preserving Jars, set of 6) and don't want to waste money buying more jars (of a lesser-quality brand).

This is definitely the top-of-the-line canner - well worth the money if you have it to spend.

I love, love, love this pressure cooker!

If I had had this pressure cooker 12 years ago I would not have spent and wasted more dollars than I like to admit on various cookers trying to find the right one to cook 3 whole chickens at one time w/o risking a kitchen disasters. I have owned the large (12 qt) expensive electric cookers along with a variety of on-the-stove-top models. The teflon coated models wear out quickly and the replacement costs for a new insert is almost as much as the original unit! I cook 3 whole chickens each week to feed to my 2 dogs (1.5 hours and even the bones are eatible mixed with rice and veggies).

Advice: Read the instructions carefully! My first attempt with the cooker taught me several things.

1) you will need more Vaseline around the edges than the instructions call for or you will get steam leaking out a side.

2) bring all the screw clamps up to the top and tighten only until they start to take more effort. Once all the screws are in place then tighten opposite sides together just a bit and work your way around the lid, then do it again until all screws are tightened about the same - do not over tightened.

3) regardless of removing the pressure gauge, as instructed in the literature immediately when it reaches ZERO, you will still have to use a screw driver or a metal strong utility spoon between the lid and pot to snap the lid loose - just stick the handle into the space and pry or turn gently and the pressure will let go and release the lid from the pot.

4) if cooking food in the cooker then you will be using soap and water to clean up and therefore you will have to reapply the Vaseline every single time you use the cooker.

5) Put your cooker on the stove with all the ingredients and then add liquids last. This pot is very heavy and much heavier when full.

6) do not fill more than half full of liquid or solid foods because you do not want to run the risk of blowing grease, etc. out the vent! Good advice for ALL PRESSURE COOKERS!!

7) Cooker takes quite a while to cool down because this metal holds the heat much longer than most pans. It also takes a long time to come up to full pressure....lots of pan and lots of volume to heat when half full!

8) The instructions for how often the pressure weight should jiggle is really a factor of your stove and how well you can regulate it. I happen to have a Viking Range and it's almost impossible to get the exact jiggles/min that the instructions talk about. One millimeter up or down on my gas stove knobs will cause it to stop jiggling altogether or more frequently. Just get it so it does not exceed the 15 pounds of pressure on the gauge and it will work just fine. Mine sounds like it is jiggling faster but everything has worked out ok.

If you do a lot of large scale cooking or canning then you want a cooker that is reliable and this mother is the Queen of pressure cookers for the job. If you only cook small batches once in a while then you might find this tank to be more than you need. I absolutely love it, my chickens cook in about half the time as other cookers I've had and I do not think you'll be sorry with this purchase.

When my old canner quit working right I borrowed one of these from my best friend. Needless to say after using it I had to buy one. Excellent - you won't be disappointed!

This pressure cooker looks very impressive and appears to be built very well. I have not yet used it and this is my first pressure cooker but all seems well with the product. It is without question a HEAVY DUTY pressure cooker and judging by the instructions it is simple to use. The cooker also comes with a canning rack/plate that is made of alluminum. I am planning on using this cooker for the culturing of brewing yeasts. This cooker has exceeded my expectations so far and judging on that I would highly reccomend this pressure cooker.

It works great the only dislike is that I have had the lid stuck twice but know now to loosen the wing nuts just a little with about 4 to 5 lbs in the cooker just tell the steam starts leaking out and then let it cool the rest of the way. Besides that it is great PLUS it is MADE IN THE USA.

I have used this canner ever since I learned to can and there is NO equal to it. When people say they lose the seal and it unseats improperly they are not closing the lid as instructed. It must be closed at alternating lugnuts and not tight to start that is tightened after you seat them first. If the instructions are followed and COMMON SENSE is used this canner cannot be leaking. also it does require simple care as good cleaning after use and oiling the screws occassionly to keep it from rusting I use WD 40 and it is quick and easy. It is basic common sense and care and this canner will last forever and is foulproof. I LOVE IT!

My wife loves this canner. She has a hard time getting the lid on but she is not scared of it like the last one. It is very well built and looks like it should last for ever!

Great product. Superior materials and workmanship. 7 quart capacity is what got me to buy. Canning meats will be the main chore of this baby.

One of the labs I supervised lacked funding to purchase an autoclave. We sterilized media broth, media agar, dilution agents, Petri dishes, flasks, bottles, and other microbiology utensils in a Mirro pressure canner. We sterilized a minimum of three batches daily, five and six days a week, year round. The Mirro canners constantly required new seals, yet the lids still frequently warped and leaked all over the stove. We replaced the Mirro canner twice in a year, let alone all of the gaskets we went through. I bought this All American pressure cooker when I saw the unique no gasket design, securing lugs, and the safety features built into this pressure cooker. My micro staff loved this pressure cooker. This All American pressure cooker never leaked, the lid fit perfectly time after time, and all of our batches came out properly sterilized. It impressed me so much after almost two years' use in a laboratory setting, that I am now buying one for my home canning. Made in USA, heavily built, well-engineered for performance and safety, and proven to me in multiple daily uses with three different users, including myself--a great pressure cooker in my experience, far better than the others we tried.

This is my second canning season with this canner and I absolutely love it for its solid, reliable performance. Yes it's heavy and stays hot a long time--but it's a pressure canner and that's how it works. I wish all my kitchen appliances were as well-made. This will be passed down to my children!

After shopping around and reading lots of reviews, I decided to go for this one. It is definitely important to check the tension before anything else. As a beginner sewer who wants something to grow into, this is the perfect choice. The manual is so easy, even the most inexperienced sewers can understand the instructions. I've had great results on the three projects I've done with it so far.

I bought this machine online at amazon a few months ago and I love it! After ten years of suffering with a cheap machine that I bought at Walmart for $100, this thing has been a dream come true! No more struggling and fighting with the machine! I love to sew, but with my old machine I always ended up yelling and complaining - no problems yet with this one! I have already made several skirts with it, and just purchased a brother serger to compliment this machine. I am now a Brother sewing machine fan! This machine is so easy and simple to use. You will not regret it!

I had been looking at sewing machines, but decided to get this one when it was on sale. It arrived just fine and included all the parts. I have never sewn before, but wanted to learn it as a hobby. I was a little nervous because many of the reviews were talking about problems with tension, and I was concerned my inexperience would make that a problem. I haven't had any problems learning how to use it though. I have had it for about three weeks and have already made about four projects and done some repair work. The instructions are super clear and make it easy to get started. All of the problems I had were from my inexperience using a sewing machine, and once I had figured out what I was doing wrong it has been working great. It seems to handle most things I throw at it (mostly light-weight to medium fabrics and elastic), but I don't know how well it will handle heavy duty fabric like denim or leather.

Overall it has been a great purchase and I look forward to sewing on it for years to come.

The features on this machine are very convenient, especially if you want to quilt. Threading and bobbin winding are much more easier than the Singer machine I had.

Haven't used a machine in years and was able to do a blind hem with only one practice round. Also used the overcast stitch to finish a knit shirt. Have repaired denim and heavy cotton towels.

Minor complaint...still can't figure out the automatic needle threader. The 1/4" quilting foot was not included. Everything else as described.

It is a good sewin machine, I do not really know to much about it, but it is good to me

It does everything it's supposed to do and even sews through vinyl. Learned how to use the one-step buttonhole maker using the Singer bookThe New Sewing Essentials (Singer) and it works great. This was my first machine I purchased (at Wal-mart) and I have no regrets. It's a great starter machine.

There are many things to love about the CS6000i. My favorite thing is probably the setting that allows the needle to stay in the fabric when you quit sewing. The drop in bobbin is great and it's extremely quiet and smooth.

With the 4+ star rating for this machine, I chose to believe that the tension problems mentioned in some of the reviews were not common and just a fluke in a machine every now and then. However, my machine sewed wonderfully the first day, but day two was a different story - it was like a gremlin had come in during the night and swapped machines. No matter how I adjusted the tension, the threads were laying on top of the fabric and not forming proper loops. The seams were puckering (I was sewing on same fabric as day one) and the stitches were uneven, loose and not secure.

I'm returning the machine before my 30 day guarantee is over. It has everything you could want in a sewing machine, but the quality just isn't there like in my older model Brother.

I purchased this machine for my 80+ year old mother who has sewn for many years. First thing... she read the manual cover to cover... and she loves it. Excellent performance and excellent value. I would highly recommend!

I have to say I'm extremely impressed with this thing. Sews like a bliss, the speed is astonishing and there's a great number of cool stitches. The machine is super computerized and it makes it very easy to select the many functions it has. Probably the best feature (judging from my partner's reactions, who's been sewing for years) is that buttonhole making function. He always tells me that making buttonholes is so difficult. With this machine you just need to set the foot, the function, and just push the pedal, the machine will do the rest. Even for me, that I've never sewn a button, it's impressive.

A very good quality product, in my opinion very cheap for what it offers.
Absolutely reccommended.

This is my second Capresso 454, the first one lasted 8 years before the element gave out and it was leaking while brewing. I do note that the new one is improved from the old one and I do not foresee it leaking like the old one did. It also has a led light that remains on all the time unlike the old one that would go out while not in use. I do find that the new perforated papers work better than the non perfs do. Works great drinking coffee brewed this morn. right now.

Had it for about a month, have made coffee several times a day. Many of the reviews I've read have been confirmed:

--the coffee temp is not 180 in the glass carafe after brewing. This is not a big deal me. I'm sure if you used warmer water to brew with, the coffee temp would be in the 180s when finished (at least with a full pot).

--the grinder works great. I use Costco Kirkland Signature Starbucks coffee (both decaf and regular) and use the finest grind setting and have never had any clogging. I will note that about a pepper shake of coffee grinds end up on the countertop under the grinder after each brew...again not a big deal to me. This happens after grinding is finished and the filter basket shifts from the grinder to the pot.

--clean up really is a snap. Just a quick rinse under the faucet, only 3 parts! Having come from the Cuisinart brand like many others, this is fantastic.

--the carafe pouring problem people have complained about is only a problem if you pour too fast. Not a big deal to me.

--the digital display is very easy to use. I have had no problems with it so far. I hope it stays that way. I've read that the 454 is an improvement in this regard.

All in all I've been very pleased with this coffee maker. It is a really cool design and is easy to use. It didn't get 5 stars because I think that if you advertise 180 in the brew pot, it should be 180. Perhaps Capresso can add an extra 100 watts to the heating elements in future models.

I have owned several units from Cuisinart, and this is superior. It gives you complete control over your brew size and strength, it is less noisy, and clean up is the same as a standard coffee maker. Cuisinart models are a pain to clean, and most of the ones I owned had problems with the grinding unit.

This unit makes great coffee--ranging from one cup to ten. I especially appreciate its ability to automatically both slow the brewing process to make one to four cups of the proper intensity and to lower the hot plate temperature for such small volumes. You can even choose from three brewing temperatures.
Capresso is still working out problems with the clock display but I've found service to be completely hassle-free.
I highly recommend this machine and Capresso.

I've had this coffee maker for a few weeks now and I'm returning it tomorrow. I've tried everything but it makes luke-warm coffee. I even called Capresso and they told me that their coffee makers brew at 180 degrees. Well I put my candy thermometer in the pot this morning and guess what? 160! Way off from where it should be. It's a great design but they are missing the most important part...good coffee. Guess I'm going back to a Cuisinart which at least brews a great cup of coffee.

After several years, my Capresso CoffeeTEAM-S combo started acting up. The digital display started flashing, so I called the company and spoke with a wonderful customer service representative who talked me through some checks, then offered to have me return the product for repair at a cost to me. Because I really love this appliance and found it to be the most reliable coffee maker that would grind the beans and have my coffee ready in the morning, I agreed and in two days, received the mailing label and instructions. Three days after handing the Capresso box to the UPS person, he returned it to me, all fixed and working great. The Service person had checked the coffee maker out fully, replaced the electronics and also replaced the grinder, feeling that it was working less than perfectly. I was impressed by the repair job and the speed of return.

Now for the reasons why I love this coffee duo. I can adjust the texture of the grind depending on the beans I use. The chute can very easily be cleaned and there is a clear view of the chute so I can see if it clogs, which it has yet to do. The water reservoir is very easy to fill, the glass carafe does not drip when I pour water or coffee, and the lid fits perfectly still after all these years. (You must place the carafe into the machine with the handle in front to work right.) If you choose to, you can purchase and use little carbon filters to filter your water, but once I use the last one I have now, I probably will not repurchase them, as I use filtered water from my faucet anyway. It's nice to have the option. The filter holder snaps back perfectly into position after the beans are ground and I've never had a problem with flying coffee grinds, or the water not dripping properly into the coffee grounds and then into the carafe. The coffee is hot and the heating plate stays hot for two hours and then shuts off automatically. If I need it to stay hot longer, I simply depress the "On" button and it's good for another two hours. The permanent gold filter and secondary filter holder are very easy to clean and replace. The machine produces delicious coffee regardless of the amount I prepare and the ability to adjust the strength in addition to the number of cups of coffee gives you options for coming up with your own preferred strength and amount. I was able to make my discovery within the first few days and haven't deviated since for the average "Joe." The automatic timer is a savior for early days when I know I'll be rushing and I love the sound of the grinder followed by the snap back of the filter compartment which is then followed by the sound of water dripping and an aromatic tease from the kitchen. I clean the coffeemaker monthly by running a water/vinegar solution through the system and following up with a straight water cycle, always after removing the gold coffee filter and the carbon filter.

Although I usually prefer Cuisinart appliances, I am sold on this Capresso coffee team and quite impressed with their customer service department. As reluctant as I was to have to pay for a repair, the product was out of warranty, and I appreciated having the option to give this a new lease on life and keep it out of a landfill.

I liked the Capresso so much that I ordered a second one. I had both for a number of years and when the first one got too old I replaced it with another Capresso. I have tried other grind and brew machines and got rid of each of them because they just didn't do the job. The capresso makes great coffee whether you grind or just brew coffee.

This is the third capresso that my wife and I have owned. It makes great
coffee, and is very easy to use, but, the display seems to go out in about 2 years making it useless. We tried the Cuisinart (about half the price), but we found it to be much harder to use. The display on the new Capresso looks a little bit different, so hopefully, they have fixed that problem.

I had the former version of this machine. I used it daily for 9 years and figure that I brewed over 3000 cups of coffee on it. The convenience of the grind is excellent. Coffee is consistently wonderful. New features of quiet grinding, backlit screen, and lever release for the basket are wonderful upgrades. Even comes with a 2-4 cup option to slow the brewing for full flavor. You won't be disappointed with this.

I have had this coffee maker for 14 months several months ago numbers on the display started going out now they are all out, the machine still works but I have to measure beans into hopper and push start twice to get them all to grind, after reading other reviews and talking to friends this is a common problem. Way to much money for a machine that is going to last a year. I emailed the company with problem they called the next day, sent me a return ups label, I shipped on a Wednesday and got my coffee maker back the next Wednesday. Hopefully the company can correct the problem with the display however I got great service even though it was 2 months out of waranty.

My wife and I bought the Dyson DC 18 from Macy's and let me tell you when I got this thing assembled I let it loose on the living room and after having our carpets cleaned the week prior it still managed to pull up tons of dust, dirt, and soap left behind by the carpet cleaner. I vacuum every other day and it amazes me with its suction. It manages to pull up everything that we tracked in the prior day and we easily dump it in the trash without messing with bags. All I can say is I was skeptical when I spent $299.00 for this vacuum cleaner but now that I have seen the light there is not a chance I would ever buy anything other than a Dyson. You will never regret your purchase.

This is my third vacuum in 2 years. I first bought a 100 dollar one. it broke after a year. It also never did a very good job. I think bought a 60 dollar one at walmart. It worked better than the first but quit out after 7 months. After spending 170 dollars on vacuums in less than 2 years I decided to spend way to much on a vacuum and get this one. It has a longer warranty, and I could always return it if it stunk. I looked at several Dyson vacuums and this one is the best. Do not be told otherwise. The ball vacuum is heavy, and needlessly more expensive. The small ball vacuum is about the same size as this one, but has the 6 amp motor (or the smaller motor). The original style dyson just strikes me as clumsy looking, and the canister vacuums just have a lot of parts. This is the best combination of size, weight, and suction power. Its sounds creepy, but I like to vacuum using my Dyson. And it WORKS. It does not spray stuff around on hardwood like my old vacuums, and gets up so much stuff that I am grossed out every time I use it.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I've been using my Dyson for four months now. I am still amazed at the cat hair it retrieves from the carpet and bedding. I stated before that it sucked up pine needles, but alas, it actually choked on them and I had to remove the head to clean out the hose. That was an easy task. It has tipped over many times, nothing ever breaks on it when it does. I did suck up a sock and had to remove the head yet again. When I do scatter rugs I turn off the beater bar and it works much better; doesn't try to eat them up. Cord is still long enough and emptying the canister is not a bother--too excited when I see all the cat hair that used to be in the carpet!!! Sometimes I am lazy and just lift the whole vacuum up on my bed to do my duvet, rather than pull out the wand. No kidding, the vacuum is that light and it does a marvelous job.

I recently went shopping for a new vacuum and after doing a small bit of research on the webbernets first I decided that bissell or dyson were our best bets. After stopping by Sears and seeing a dc24 for 399 and a dc18 for 499 I decided to do some shopping around. Home depot offered a dc18 for 279! I couldn't believe it. Sears informed us earlier that they price match. So, returning to Sears I asked them to price match at Home Depot's price. Unbelievably, Sears was offering the same unit, dc18, for $75!!!!!! Earlier when they had quoted that model's price to us they were just going off what they knew the dc18 was recently sold for. Turns out, when they actually checked the computer, and verified it several times with co-workers, they discovered it was on clearance, I assume because what you said, it's a discontinued product. I could care less, I got a $4-500 vacuum for under a hundred bucks. All that being said, I would still say this vacuum is worth full retail price!!

I've heard great things about Dyson - my mom has 5 cats, and 2 dogs and she SWEARS by her Dyson "Animal". I got the 'Slim' - trying to save a bit of $$ over the 'animal'. At first it worked pretty good - I really thought it would have more suction power than it did, but it worked. After 2 weeks of use, it started to get clogged every single time I use it. In all fairness, we do have a dog and 6 long haired cats, but still.... Now it barely sucks at all (no clogs that I can find), and the base of the unit gets super hot after just a minute or so of use. The stand doesn't always kick down when it's pushed upright, and it just falls over - very annoying.
Maybe I just got a defective one. I called Dyson's helpline, which was no help at all. After reading all the stories of being charged for replacements and services (even tho it's under warranty), I've yet to take it into a repair shop. Maybe some day.....

In short, I wanted to love this vacuum, but it just isn't happening.

Vacuuming is my number one most despised household chore. I have allergies to dust, and vacuuming is a sure way for me to spend the rest of the day, or even weekend, with itchy eyes and a sinus headache. And vacuums themselves are so big, bulky, noisy, and impractical. They are a frustration to use. I hate vacuums and I HATE vacuuming.

Until I bought my Dyson Slim.

I tried a couple of different vacuums in the years since the judge, too lazy to figure out a way to split things evenly, gave everything I left in the house, including the vacuum, to my ex-husband. In retrospect, this was a good thing. My first vacuum was a name brand model I bought for about $200 at Sam's Club. It was big, bulky, noisy, hard to bag, and died before the end of the first year. The second one was a $200 model from Sears (Hoover). Decent vacuum, but with all the typical objections. Then, one day last summer as I was scavenging around Target's clearance endcaps, I found the Dyson. ON CLEARANCE. For half off--$200. WOO WOO! It seemed silly to buy yet another vacuum when I had one that was less than a year old at home. But I had recently nearly killed myself trying to get old bulky down the stairs and figured that I could try out the Dyson and see if it was as good as the ads say.

I have to say, IT WAS! I like this vacuum. I don't LOVE it--I'm saving my love for Dyson's first fully automatic robotic vacuum (hint, hint, Mr. Dyson). But it solves a lot of the problems I've had with vacuums:

#1. It does not throw up a lot of dust. My other HEPA vacs seemed to throw up a lot of dust. Dyson is clean. The technology they brag about really works. It also doesn't blow dirt around when it's used on a hard surface. I DON'T HAVE ALLERGY SYMPTOMS AFTER USING THIS VACUUM. For me, this is huge.

#2. It's slimmer and easier to move around than larger vacuums. I notice a big difference when I am actually vacuuming. It's much easier to maneuver. At first glance, I thought this was one of the Ball models--it has a similar design--it pivots--like a Swiffer floor cleaner (love Swiffers, but that's another story) However, because the head is movable and doesn't lock, it's still hard to carry up stairs. The head flops around when the vacuum is lifted off the ground.

#3. The canister is pretty easy to empty. And, boy, do you get to see how much crud this vacuum picks up and how quickly!

This is not a perfect vacuum. There are some weaknesses, but only the first listed below is a major concern to me:

#1. As other reviewers have noted, the attachments are limited. Highly limited. For one, the attachment hose has a funny way of pulling up off of the main body and the flexible part of the hose is VERY short, making it difficult to maneuver. It is so short as to be of little use. You can maybe reach a spot on the floor right next to the vacuum, but vacuuming stairs, for example, is nearly impossible. I have to use old bulky for that. A longer flexible hose is BADLY needed. Additionally, the stiff metal part of the hose slips into the flexible part for storage and normal use. So putting the hose back in place for normal use or storage is a bit awkward sometimes. The metal part can catch on the ribs of the flexible part and needs to be wrestled with. I also fear that one day the metal part will catch and tear the flexible vinyl part of the hose.

#2. The canister is hard plastic and on the small side. The plastic is so rigid, it almost seems fragile and easy to crack. The latch seems like it would snap easily (it hasn't so far). Also the latch is on the bottom of the canister, and you will likely get your hands a bit dusty emptying the canister.

#3. I find the vacuum very easy to maneuver because of the pivoting head. But my 8 year old has real difficulty controlling the pivoting head and does better with the older, more rigid style vacuum.

#4. I still have to do the vacuuming. Mr. Dyson, please get together with Mrs. Roomba and create a miracle.

I was hoping that this vacuum would be as good as so many reviewers have said, what with all the hype about Dysons and of course the price tag being what it is. We found ours on sale and snatched it up last week. And it's true, it really does perform.

We had a five-year old upright-bag vacuum that I have disliked in many ways for a long time. We decided to test and see what it was not picking up. We vacuumed a carpeted room with the old Kenmore just minutes before vacuuming with the new Dyson DC18, and it picked up an incredible amount of disgusting stuff that was left behind. Because the Dyson has a clear canister in front you can see exactly what you are getting up. Even when it's full it still sucks just as much as when it's empty. Wow, the claims are true!

I went on a cleaning spree, vacuuming all my hard wood and tile floors, carpets and even a long-pile friese carpet. It is easy to switch off the brush roller for hard floors and it really sucks crumbs and stuff up instead of throwing it all over like my old vacuum. On the carpets it does only have one setting, you can't set it higher or lower, but it did an excellent job. The only concern I have about this is on the friese the brush seemed to be really rough on the pile so I turned it off, and even with just the suction and no brush it still did a good job.

The Slim is fairly light (compared to my heavy old vacuum), so it's much easier for me to get it up and down the stairs. It also has a pivot joint thing on the bottom so you can turn on a dime and really get around and under chairs and table legs, etc.

The canister is easy to empty, though I will mention that we have some new carpet that is still shedding lots of carpet fibers, and we had to use a utensil to loosen the "nest" of fiber and junk from the canister into the garbage. It was not as messy as I expected, however, and there was no mushroom cloud of dust flying up (but I held it way down at the bottom of the garbage so it wouldn't have far to fall and blow all over).

The attachments are not fancy, but I have never really used all of the various attachments from other vacuums anyways so that doesn't bother me.

Overall I am very happy with the DC18 so far!

I just purchased my slim yesterday and so far I love it. I make any excuse to roll it out and vacuum. The only thing I noticed that was lacking in design was when you have the vacuum upright and the stand is engaged it's not very sturdy. With the vacuum being so expensive, I am very careful not to tip the thing over when I have it in the upright position and you should be too. Other than that, the vacuum is very powerful and not so loud and well....slim.

Had it for two months now. What a great design. All products should be engineered this well. It cleans very well on carpets and wood floors. It is very easy to empty the container of debris. It's almost fun to vacuum.

this oven seemed good until i tried the convection mode. it rattles loudly when i put it on convection. the seller gave me the phone number to Krups. i don't know if that will fix the problem. i also don't know if anyone has had this problem as well. i am traveling for the month and will call Krups when i get home.

I've had this toaster oven for less than 2 years. Overall, it's done a great job. The infra-red heating is very cool - has no pre-heating time at all. I like the digital screen, and the construction is mostly solid.

One minor and one huge quibble. Minor - the rubber on the buttons is really soft and squishy and started to fade very early. Not a big deal but it's a bit sticky. Major - the hinge on the left side of the door totally broke on me. I looked on-line (including Amazon reviews) and it looks like the cost of repair is about $50, and often breaks again. I'm thinking about dumping it and getting a Breville.

Seriously dangerous - steam has a tendency to build up in the oven while baking or toasting which then affects the digital controls. The controls fritz out and the oven stays on... full strength. The only way to stop it at that point is to unplug. So far, once it cools it's okay but it's a repeatable problem. I can get it to work properly only if I prop open the door slightly to dump the steam. Very, very dangerous and a serious design flaw.

I think this is the best looking toaster oven available. I can sit and watch the red heating elements alternate all day long. It has a simple look and button layout and again its just nice to look at.

It also cooks my food great. Its not the fastest toaster in the world but in no way too slow.

Don't buy if you are into toaster toast racing. You will lose.

After 1 1/2 years the beloved toaster oven died. Never had a single problem w/ it, it just sadly would not turn on again. Had to send to Action Appliance and they told me two things: failure of circuit board, and convection motor. We have never even used the convec part on this unit. $130 to repair after spending $18. sending UPS, and $20. to Action so they would look at it-Too bad as we loved this neat oven. Guess we'll try a Kitchen Aid next if we make it through the Pandemic.

I used this toaster oven less than two months and it doesn't shut off unless you unplug it from the wall. It is a fire hazard.
It bakes fine, but does the worst job of toasting bread than any toaster oven I have owned. One side is brown and the other side is only warm.

I was very pleased with this purchase and the unit worked well for nearly a year. Unfortunately the flimsy door catch has broken, and my $150 toaster oven is now useless. I had expected much more durable construction at this price level. I'm going back to buying a $30 toaster oven - they last longer.

After just one year of use, I've had to throw it out. The cord frayed and the toast button stopped working. The oven's exterior got too hot. And the toast process, when it worked, took forever.

I tried to award NO STARS, but the system forced me to award a minimum of one.

The first time I attempted to use the oven, it failed. Because there is no way to obtain useful user information, I had to send it to a warranty repair facility...I'm still waiting for a reply. I chose to purchase this oven because of the Krups reputation and good reviews, so I am very disappointed.

This is the second Krups toaster oven (same model) we've owned. It gets used at least 3 or 4 times a day. Toasts great. Bake, broil, convection are all easy to use. Easy, readable, controls. Comes with trays, racks,and tongs to pull out hot racks. Highly recomended!

Besides being super easy to use, the biggest advantage I see is that you do not need a sink or water hookup for this to work.

Our nearest sink is at least a hundred yards away - no problem! You fill the reservoir once in the morning and you are good to go. The capsules after use are dry and all the grounds are self contained.

As other have mentioned, the capsules are not cheap, but this isn't Folgers, the coffee /espresso this makes is as good if not better than Starbucks...

My experience so far has been fantastic. I bought the D290 on my first foray into the auto espresso world. I'd owned a Bialetti espresso maker but hated a number of things about it. My foremost gripe was the cleaning between "doses" of espresso. After each use, you'd have to break it apart, clean it and get it ready for use again. I figured there had to be something easier. And in walked the Nespresso. After two full weeks with the product I can honestly say it's fantastic. It makes great espresso for me and wonderful lattes for my wife. Use is a snap - it only takes about 20 seconds to get the heat up to make espresso. And it only takes 30 or so seconds to switch it into steam mode. Clean up is a snap - lift the cap to toss the pod into the bin and you're done. All in all, I am VERY happy with this product. As an aside - I've placed two orders with nespresso.com. Both shipped the same day I ordered them and arrived two days later. You can't beat the convenience.

We purchased this machine and when we got it, it was defective and did not work. Nespresso said we had to return it to the them, only in the US, to get it fixed or replaced. The packaging says we have to return to them. We lost the call and the other CSR said we had to return it to the seller. Unless you live in US, I would not recommend purchasing from Nespresso in case you get a lemon like we did.

I love the D290. Small, great steam, not much in drip tray unlike some I have had to empty frequently. Love the crema, but I really like starbucks espresso. Wish they had capsules to fit.

Admitedly I am addicted to this machine, the espresso. I have owned this machine for around 3 years now and made mabye 5,000 cups of espresso with this. Two to three per day is my standard, and my wife usually has one or two Lungos per day. Hopefully you can understand that I love this machine, and I love this espresso. This is far superior to any other "on demand" coffee makers, this machine makes real espresso.

The machine is sturdy beyond imagination. During these three years the sum total of the maintenance I have done on this machine, about once per 9 months I run the descaler kit. That's it, nothing else, no parts broken, no repairs required, nothing. Initially I got very scared when I switched between steam delivery and making espresso - the machine makes a lot of noise and steams all over the place for about 60 seconds (it's scary the first time). Quick call to customer service and I found out this is normal. The other oddity was occasionally the short cup espresso would only run for a few seconds. Well I found out that we were accidently reprogramming the time for the short cup (hold down the button for the amount of time you want water to flow).

Absolutely 100% completely problem free.

Noise - yes this machine makes noise. ALL mechanical espresso machines make noise, there is no way around that problem (you have to pump the water to reach the 90 some odd PSI to make real espresso). To me, this machine makes the most beautiful noise ever. It's a solid heavy pump sound, not some whimpy whiny noise. It's also so beautiful because my mind knows what is coming next, a great cup of espresso.

From cold machine to a cup of espresso is roughly 1.5 minutes. Warm up time is around a minute, and brew time for the cup is about 30 seconds. Couldn't be faster, couldn't be easier.

On to the quality. You will never ever drink a better cup of espresso at Starbucks or Caribou, you can't. They make those drinks in paper cups and by definition the espresso can't be as good. There is nothing like drinking from a ceramic cup, it enhances the flavor more than you can imagine. You cannot mess up making the espresso. The capsule is hermetically sealed in aluminum, there is absolutey no air exchange, unlike plastic or paper containers. There is no need to refrigerate or freeze these capsules - they do not deteriorate due to air exchange. Nespresso has solved some of the most critical variables in making espresso, fineness of coffee grind, roast time and temperature, preventing air from interacting with the coffee, pressure and temperature of the water, and brew residence time. Each cup tastes exactly the same one after the other.

The espresso itself. Oh my goodness, I have spent a lot of time in Italy drinking espresso at corner cafes. Nespresso is as good as, if not better than, anything I ever had in Italy. It is the rare US or Canadian restaurant that can brew a better espresso. Nespresso has become the gold standard by which I judge espresso when I travel. The crema on these drinks is amazing - thick, rich, and perfect.

The real competitor to this machine, the Illy line, and $1000 true ground espresso machines. Here's the huge downside to those machines - the Illy machines are well over $750, and the cartridges are paper wrapped (so once you open the can, you need to use all those cartridges quickly - air is ground coffee's worst enemy). The ground coffee versions, you have a long warm up time to build heat and pressure in the vessel, you have to grind your own coffee, there's a huge variable introduced in grind size and coffee packing, and you have messy coffee grounds to clean up.

When you compare this machine to the alternatives for real espresso, this is a cheap machine. Add the convenience, and this is a no brainer choice to me. The one downside to this machine and all the Nespresso machines, you have to buy your coffee from Nestle directly over the internet or phone. Nobody else makes these capsules. Myself, I simply buy 500 at a time and watch my supply. From ordering to delivery is usually 3 days.

One of my biggest concerns in buying this was the longevity of Nestle producing these capsules. I think they will produce these for a long time in the future. The machine dates back to 1986. It is very popular in Europe. The capsule they use is a commodity aluminum capsule that is used by a number of other industries - in other words, Nestle buys these formed aluminum capsules, fills them, and seals them. There is no proprietary container, unlike the other two popular beverage on demand machines. Nestle's investment in capsule manufacture and distribution (all 100% internet or phone based with no marketing in the US) is really small for a great return to them.

Visiting Italians have told me this is the best espresso they have ever had in the US. And my wife, who rarely ever drank brewed coffee, looks forward to her luongo every morning.

This does have a steamer attachment to make foamed milk and deliver hot water. There's also a gizmo to foam milk for cappucino or lattes. The gizmo was just too much of a pain to clean for me, so I've used it maybe 10 times. The steam attachment, I can make a great cappucino with that pretty quickly with no mess, so I lean that direction.

Compared to some of the newer less expensive machines, this one is really rock solid and well proven to me. I love the automatic short or long buttons. I would buy exactly this machine again in a second. But, remember, I'm an addict.

If you are looking for that special $100 arena, and only want an on-demand beverage maker, this is by far the best machine you can buy:
Bosch TAS4511UC Tassimo Single-Serve Coffee Brewer, Silk Silver - just remember, it makes great coffee, cappucino, hot chocolate, tea - but it does not make espresso (no matter what anyone says or claims, it is incapable of doing that). They have fixed the awful sound of the original machine by working with Bosch.
The other alternative for just coffee making (no cappucino or hot chocolate) Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

OMG, this is so easy to use and it makes the best cappuccinos. Over the years, I've tried them all -- I've gone from a cheap Braun espresso machine, to an expensive Gaggia, to a stove-top Mukka, and this is without a doubt the best coffee I've had at home. Plus, it is so easy to clean up.

After a ton of research and finally a demo of the product, I was sold. The espresso is beyond easy to make-- perfect every time. No mess, no guessing with grinding beans, measuring, tamping. Many complain about the cost of the pods (appx 50 cents a shot)-- but compare that with a $15 one-pound bag of Starbucks espresso beans (appx 25-30 cents a shot) and the pods are well worth it.

With other espresso machines, there were always complaints about lack of steam pressure to make lattes/cappucinos. Not with the D290- you can either the manual wand or the "near automatic" attachment with great results.

Another frequent comment: the serious lack of instructions in the D290's manual. No problem though... just call the Nespresso customer service. I was conntected to a person almost immediately, and they were VERY helpful-- truly wanted me to have the best experience.

Final comment: My 1st Nespresso D290 actually did not work. I called Nespresso, and they immediately sent me a brand new replacement via 2-day air-- no hassle.

All the money that I've spent at Starbucks over the years -- no more! I got this machine about a week ago now and I absolutely love it.

Downsides:
* Manual really stinks. It's all in pictures, and not
very clear ones at that. Once you get the hang of it
though, its pretty easy.
* Price -- it is very pricey, but if it replaces a $5
-$10 a day Starbucks habit, that works for me.
* Proprietary espresso capsules-can only be bought
through the few Nespresso stores or
online. Online ordering is easy though, and they ship
2 day air.

Upsides:
* Produces great tasting espresso-better than Starbucks
* Easy and fast to prepare espresso
* Easy to clean
* Produces great milk froth-which is also easy to make
and clean
* Most Nespresso coffee pods are about fifty cents each-
even with two shots for a grande+, this still comes
out cheaper (and better tasting) than the Starbucks
equivalent.
* Large variety of available Nespresso espresso flavors
with easy ordering. Starbucks should consider
partnering with Nespresso to develop Starbucks
capsules for Nespresso machines. This
will benefit Nespresso by offering more selection with
a well known coffee brand -- and Starbucks
will benefit by getting some of the coffee biz that
they're losing by people buying Nespresso machines (or
other machines that can't use Starbucks).

Net Net -- if you can get past the price, buy this machine -- I highly recommend it!

My wife got me one a year ago and I am still using it regularly. it is easy to use, easy to clean-up and makes great coffee. While the unit is expensive, it beats anything else I have tried. Plus, at $0.50 per capsule, it should pay for its self within a year or so if you have a latte-a-day Starbucks habit. :)

Works as advertised and is superb. Very pleased with it. Instructions are not as clear as they could be.

Overall I'm satisfied with this product. I had a coupon so I got it for a good price. The machine recently clogged up on me, I use it daily. I had a really basic Krups before that worked fine but I thought a upgrade would be nice. The machine is also quite noisy when making coffee, that surprised me. I hope it lasts as long as my last machine 15 years.

I am updating this review. I bought this product based on consumer reports recommending it. However I just read the reviews written by others and I'm also having the same problems of the coffee not flowing. I'm sending it back today after talking to the customer service person who was very nice. I have a feeling I'll be attempting to return it because the 2nd one probably won't work either. It did initially make great espresso.

Great performance from a basic machine, ideal for home use. This is my 3rd Krups espresso maker in the last 15 years or so. Perfect espresso every time, use it every day. Looks great, easy to clean and maintain, and performs as expected.

Krups XP4050 1200-Watt 15-Bar-Pump Programmable Espresso Machine

I bought this cappuccino maker for my 'coffee aficionado' sweetie. He has used all of the features, including programming the water flow to his liking. I've created a monster, because now everyday coffee is just not good enough for him! He absolutely LOVES this machine - not more than me (yet at least)!

We also had a bit of trouble getting it going at first, and were concerned there was something wrong with the water pump because it was so loud. The instructions say to run water through it 5 times, but don't really explain why. The pump needs to be primed, and we had to run water through it around 8 times before the water flow was established. Once we got this figured out, the water pump noise is significantly softer, and there have been no other problems!

This cappuccino maker works well, but is still a bit loud when making an espresso - our only current complaint. Since this is for such a short time, it's a very minor problem. Otherwise, it is easy to clean, and looks nice in the kitchen. Best of all, the espresso & cappuccino this thing makes is fantastic!

I have owned the Krups XP4050 for over nine months now and have used it daily ever since it was purchased. I knew I was taking a risk when I bought the XP4050, as I had read the many negative reviews on Amazon. The primary reason why I took that risk was that I was able to get an extremely good deal - getting well over $100 off the typical retail price. I feel fortunate not to have experienced any of the serious issues some of the other users have had.

There is a learning curve to the XP4500. That's for sure! Here are the things that I have learned in the time that I have owned the machine:

1. The water tank must be seated properly. Period!!! If it's not, you will get the flashing blue lights as others have pointed-out. When inserting the water tank, it should firmly stop when fully seated. You will feel a slight detent when it's seated properly. If it feels "squishy" and the tank pushes back up slightly, pull it out and start over again. I have noticed that the tank inserts easier the more the XP4050 is used.

2. Clean the inside of the brewing head frequently. It doesn't need to be after every espresso, but it should be done at least when you've finished for the day. I usually use a paper towel to do this after I have run a cycle without the filter holder. I also occasionally use a brush to remove grinds that accumulate in the brewing head.

3. Yes, the machine has a "rubbery" smell when it is new. It will go away after a while of usage.

4. Do not use the "auto cappuccino accessory." While the auto cappuccino accessory usually does an OK job if you want a latte, it suffers from three drawbacks: A) Results wildly vary. B) Milk does not get hot enough. C) There is only enough foam produced to top off a latte. It does not produce enough foam for a real cappuccino.

5. For a decent cappuccino, purchase a frothing pitcher and use the "perfect froth accessory." Oddly, the instructions for the XP4050 on the Krups website does not mention the perfect froth accessory, so I do not know if it was not included in the older units, or if it is no longer included in the newer units. Hopefully, it is still included. If you don't have it, you really need to get it if you want to make a decent cap. More importantly, you need to learn how to use it. This took me a long time to figure out because there are no decent instructions on how to use the attachment. Really, I should record a video on how to do this, but for now, I'll try to get the idea across here:

A) Remove the small stainless tube from the perfect froth accessory (PFA).

B) Attach the PFA to the steam nozzle so that the black rubber protrusion (that holds the small tube) points away from the machine.

C) Fill 1/3 to 1/2 of your frothing pitcher with cold milk (depending on how many caps you want to make).

D) Start steam process on the machine (I assume that users already know how to do this).

E) Once steam (not water) is coming out of the PFA, raise the frothing pitcher up to the bottom protrusion of the PFA so that the top of the milk is just barely over the hole in the protrusion. If the placement is correct, you will see the milk being sucked in to the hole along with a little air. If the hole is too high, you will get large air bubbles. If hole is too low, the quantity of foam will be significantly reduced. The foam will build upon itself if you are doing this correctly. Continue to create the foam until the milk has been heated to your liking.

Just like everyone else, worked for a couple of pours, then all I get is blinking lights and no pumping. Don't blow $250.

The first two deliveries came through damaged, not the fault of the manufacturer, but lack of proper shipping packing to soften what must have been a bumpy trip. The third works wonderfully, making consistent shots quickly. My only reason for not giving it five stars is that although not exactly warm, the cappucinos do not seem to be hot enough, even when pre-warming all of the accessories as instructed. Still, a very good working machine.

I received this item. The pump wouldn't draw any water. Still not wanting to give up I returned it and got another. This one poured the water straight into the tray as others here report. It is such a shame that this machine is a piece of junk I wasted several hours on - I really wanted it to work. The functional design and looks are of true German nature but the execution and implementation is the worst kind of 'made in China'.

Judging from the other reviews, this product is a lemon. Even the one guy who's happy says he's on his second machine -- had to box & ship the first one up. Batting .500 Krups isn't good enough.

We were satisfied for a decade or more with our low-end steam-driven Krups machines. They've lowered their manufacturing standards on those, so now they only last us about 6 months before needing replacement. We thought we'd upgrade-- mistake. $250 for the frustration of blue blinking lights, water dumping into some tray underneath and overflowing, and the knowledge that in the end I'll have to clean it up, put it in a box and ship it somewhere.

Really disappointing, Krups. I've gone back to making coffee in a paper-cup filter. Sad, after so many years relying on Krups for 3+ cups a day.

I have been a Krups appliance user for many years due mainly to a consumer magazine's recommendations. This espresso machine has surpassed my expectations. It is so consistent in the quality of the espresso and the ease to produce it. I am thrilled with it!

This is the first espresso machine I have owned so I have no other product to compare it to. So far I have been happy with my Krups, although I have already had to replace the gasket once. The machine seems to be VERY picky about when it will and will not pull shots. If the espresso is not loaded just right it refuses to pull the shot, which causes water pressure to build up (this is how the gasket broke). Bottom line: the coffee tastes great, however, sometimes making the coffee can be a bit of a hassle.

Seems to be working
This item was easy to assemble and use. It seems to be helping my back problems, although my chiropractor cautioned that hanging upside down is not good for people with high blood pressure. I have suffered no ill-effects.

Excellent results for the last year!
I have owned the EP-850 model for more than a year now. I had lower back pain with the sciatica causing pain and numbness down to my toes. I also had a bulging disk irritated by lying on a table for 40 minutes to get an MRI. The pain was so bad I couldnt lay down or stand up. The pain was unbearable. I noticed a huge improvement after using the inversion table 3 times the first day for only 2-3 minutes. I also had a problem where as I walked my back would "lock-up" for a second or two stopping me in my tracks. It happened many times a day. After the first day this problem went away completely, never to return. I used the table 2-3 times a day for a month and now only use it once a day for maintenance. I also go fully inverted and do sit-ups. I have not had any pain in my back that's worth mentioning in more than a year. If I do something that puts a lot of stress on my back which causes very mild pain, I invert a few times and it's gone. I do go to the chiropractor once every six months or so mainly to get my neck adjusted. I don't think inversion puts enough weight on my neck to get the results like I get in my lower back. In the beginning the doctor had mentioned surgery. I am sure glad I didn't go down that path. I have recommended the Teeter Hang-up to many friends.

I got the EP-850 on [...] because they didn't offer the mesh backing a year ago except on [...]. I still don't see the EP-850 offered anywhere else. I like the larger handles on the 850. It has a very stable platform and I have used it without shoes (I know) and did not feel discomfort.

I researched this product for safety reasons before buying it. I am absolutely satisfied with the quality. It makes my Granddaughter extremely happy!

self destructs!
Bought one for my 12 year old son. He loved riding it - until the back tire started screeching. Couldn't see what was wrong, as the motor and wheels are all encased. The only thing I could tell is that it's built super low to the ground, so any minor bump will cause a hit on the moving parts.

Returned it, got a second one of the model, same problem. Returned it and am on the lookout for a better model.

Not perfect
The mousepad on this machine is FAR too sensitive, causing the cursor to jump uncontrollably, all over the place. The only way to get it to stop, was to disable the mousepad, thus losing an important feature. Fortunately, I prefer to use a wireless mouse anyway, so the loss is not huge - for me. If you prefer a mousepad, as some people do, this is not the machine for you. On the other hand, the tech support (with East European accents, but claiming to be in the Philippines) diagnosed the problem and told me how to turn off the pad, in a relatively painless manner. Everything else about the unit seems to work OK, but given a choice, I would rather have XP than Vista. I am hopeful...

great computer, fast shipping
Great computer. I am a student and basically use it for internet surfing, email checking, and paper writing. It can do a lot more than that but it def does what I need and then some for a great price. I overnighted it for like an extra 25$ and it was totally worth it!

Pretty good.
I purchased this laptop in mid April '09. The screen is very nice, it's not as heavy as I thought it would be and overall it runs pretty fast. The cons are the glossy keyboard and exterior show all fingerprints and I constantly have to wipe it down. It is a pretty dumb design to have a keyboard that is so shiny. It takes a long time to stop accessing the hard drive when booting up, even when I deleted lots of bloatware, which is kind of annoying. Also, it get super warm. I start sweating when I type for extended periods. I called Toshiba and they think this may be related to a battery issue, so it may not be the case with each laptop. All-in-all it runs very well I/O ports are laid out conveniently.

Google "Unable to access your database folders" for a serious problem with this pen, or rather with the PC software used to search your notes.

Buggy Pen
I bought the pen, took it home and started to work through the tutorials. It rebooted continuously and gave me an error code. I went online to look at the knowledge base and there were all sorts of articles about this error code (3). I tried everything except updating the firmware, because to update the firmware the desktop application must first find the internet. Every other program on my computer can find the internet except the Livewire Desktop. Not only that, the software wasn't written following typical window standards. BUYER BEWARE!!

The Pen is Fantastic, The Software is 1/2 done.
So you already know the pen is wonderful, amazing, fantastic and does so much. Clearly created by fanatical geniuses. Unfortunately the desktop software is not quite there yet. In my opinion, the biggest flaw is that you can't group your pages together into binders or folders. I have a 200 page notebook with sessions weekly from business meetings, classes, lectures and interviews. If I wanted to have a folder labeled "candidate interviews" and move all my pages into that folder, I can't. This is a serious flaw. There's no indexing system for your work. So if you have hundreds of pages on your desktop you cannot tag them, index them, group them or associate them together in any way. Clearly 1/2 done.

The other missing functionality is character recognition and translation to text. This would have been a killer feature if it were included but it doesn't seem to be here and it's certainly not integrated.

Wouldn't it be nice if those two things were part of this software?

Finally, someone else asked for this too, why isn't there a clip on the side of the pen for two reasons; one so it doesn't roll and two so it can be clipped to the inside of my shirt pocket!

So don't let that stop you from getting this amazing device but don't expect to get these functions in the provided software.

I enjoyed fast service and mint condition of product when it arrived. Product itself was not as described. Sparks were not as awesome as I thought they should be and the cartridges were used up faster than I expected. Also you can get a 2pk at Target for $10 and online the price is $20 plus shipping.
I like the scooter itself, the wheels seem more efficient with smoother ride than other scooters I have tried, but I don't think the "Sparks" aspect was really worth the $20 more I paid for it.

Great tool!
I have this jigsaw. While it is a fine looking tool, in action it is the best! I was required to make a modification of the plexi light columns in the Neiman-Marcus Christmas window display, cutting MDF, plexi, steel and other materials, the saw was a wonder. I got mine!

This saw really delivers. Plenty of power, even when cutting treated 2x6.
Works great for decorative rafter tails on the pergolas we build.
We really like the barrel grip. It really puts your hand in a good position for controlled cutting. Low vibration is also impressive. It doesn't leave your hand feeling numb, even after 30 min. of use. A great tool to add to your arsenal.

A pleasure to use
I used to be a union carpenter, 22 years, but got into other business for a dozen years or so. Back in the day the Bosch jig saw was all that we used. I did all comercial work, a lot of metal cutting. The Bosch would cut steel raised floor panels all day long without a wimper. After My dozen years in the Tavern business I am back doing construction, handyman type things. Not necessarily real small jobs, but certainly diverse.

A couple of years ago I bought a Bosch knock-off jig saw made by Grizzly. Not a bad saw for the price, but definately not a Bosch. I got a job where I was going to have to do some rather fancy cuts requiring a jig saw so I decided to acquire a new Bosch. I had never used a barrel grip before but it seemed it would be even more controlable than the handled type. I love it. Easy to control, square cuts, very low vibration, easy blade changes. Great tool. Took a little getting used to the power switch, but not a problem.

This is the top end of jig saws, accurate, powerful, smooth. A pleasure to use, highly recommended.

I bought this product because I was tired of making movies with my digital camera. I was amazed at the quality - it is close to HD. I wiil now go over the pros and cons.

PROS:
Good quality.
Small video file size: 1GB = 30min.
Very fast transfer speed.
Sound is not fuzzy at all.
Shiny outside case.
Stickers removable.
Lots of battery life.
Flash memory.
Buttons all placed within easy reach of fingers.

CONS:
When standing in the sun the camera dosen't darken the video enough.
Made of plastic.
No control over zoom speed.
Software it comes with is completly useless.

PLEASE NOTE:
The video camera records in MP4 format. This means if you are a PC user you need to get Quicktime Player from apple.com. there is also a way to get it to play in Windows Media Player, but you need to doownload things from Microsoft's we site.

Overall this camera is very good and i highly recommend it.

Excellent camera for a beginner
I was really excited to get this camera, as we really needed one. While this isn't the most professional camera to use, it's really handy to bring out when you want to shoot events in your life. We've used it for weddings, birthdays, hanging out in parks and the airport. Uploading the videos was a breeze. It's great for beginners because it's pretty much a point and shoot camera. It's very small and not heavy at all, but not too small that it won't fit in your hand. If you're looking for a present for a high school grad, this would be a perfect gift.

Pros: easy to use, small, lightweight, good quality.

Cons: no printed manual. The manual is on the CD but since I'm the type of person that likes having a hard copy, it makes it difficult since I don't want to print out the whole thing.

Would not order online - buy it at a retail store
I purchased this scooter as a gift for my 9 yr old daughter. When the package arrived, the shipping box was completely mangled and destroyed (and not by FedEx - it had been shipped that way by the company!). The box was held together by several overlapping layers of packing tape. There were giant chunks of cardboard missing out of the box, and one whole end of the box was completely missing. Had it not been for my own child, there is no way I would have given this item in this condition as a gift to anyone else. There was also a scratch along the side of the scooter, congruent with some of the damage to the box. All of the parts appeared to be in the box however, and there was not enough time for me to send the scooter back and get another one before her birthday, so we did keep it.

I am giving this item 4 stars because my daughter absolutely LOVES the scooter, and the scratch did not affect its performance. However, I would strongly recommend actually going to a store and purchasing this item, instead of ordering it online. The box is big and heavy, and it would be very inconvenient to package it up and ship it all back if yours arrives the way mine did!

Great scooter for the price
My daughter of 9 years old loves this scooter. The only complaint is the low clearance to the ground and the battery pack guard. It sometimes scrapes the ground when going over the driveway curbs.

I LOVE IT -
it's got style (for a high chair); it's easy to use; we bought this chair as we have a 'space saver high chair' fisher price which we have been very happy with, it's the kind you strap to the chair which we love - but with the twins I really needed their high chairs on wheels. This chair has the upright center support (for extra support) when you are taking the baby out; you can take the tray ff with one hand while holding baby in the other; it has a separate tray that fits in the dishwasher. It has 3 recline levels and also can be used at dinning & bar counter height. I researched for weeks...and wanted something that looked good and had all the features i needed - this does. I was prepared to spend anything and was even looking at the high end wooden chairs...but they just didn't have these features - recline, wheels, upright on chair, removable & washable seat cushion....I could go on...we love it!!

Great looks. Horrible Functionality.
Bought this chair in November 2008. While it matches my decor very nicely, the functionality is horrible. First, the removable tray is so easy to remove that my baby (now 10 months) removes it herself and throws it on the floor. Secondly, the cushioned head rest, while nice in theory gets stained every time I feed the baby. There are so many crevices that food gets stuck everywhere. Lastly, the footprint of the highchair is very large so if you are tight on space, this is not the highchair for you.

Excellent high chair that is stylish
I looked up all of the top rated high chairs and decided to go with this one because it has all of the bells and whistles but also looks good. Some of the reviews comment that the tray is hard to remove. I disagree. I find that it goes on and off easily enough. No problems. This is a great chair.

Great Weight for loss.
I bought this hrm a month ago and have lost 9lbs. I purchased just to see how many calories I was burning during my work outs. I found with the calorie counter it motivates me to work harder and longer than before. The only thing I would change is I wish it would be able to track distance. At first I couldn't get the watch to upload to the website. After a few days I realized that if you were signed in to the website the upload works. Otherwise I got nothing. Awesome HRM! The chest strap is adjustable and fairly comfortable too!

Great Heart Rate Monitor!
You don't need a degree in engineering to use this HRM. The Polar F11 is very easy to set up. It has very useful programs and a readable display. It provides helpful information. Good investment at a far price for the average athlete!

First Heart Rate Monitor
This was my first heart rate monitor and I love it. I gave it 5 stars based on the following:

1) Easy to use - I turned it on, took less than 5 minutes to set it up, and started using it. It is extremely easy to navigate.
2) Features - The programs are easy to set up and follow. The heart rate section shows you the time you've worked out in each of your heart rate zones and you can set alarms to warn you when your out of the zones. You can also download your training sessions to their online program.
3) Programs actually help - I took the fitness test, created a program and have been following it for about 3 months and have lost 25 pounds. Working in the heart zones, I decreased my 5k time from 35 to 23 minutes and my 10k time from 75 to 52 minutes.
3) Online resources - I've downloaded my workouts on to the online training site and can easily see my improvement over time as well as track my running mileage. I was using the Runner's World site before but like this one better.
4) Comfort - The chest strap is very comfortable. I tried the Garmin 305 band and another Polar one but this band was by far the most comfortable. The watch is no bigger than most other watches.
5) Compatability - I do most of my exercises on the treadmills at the gym and the watch transmitter is compatable with all the equipment except one type of treadmill. As long as the equipment is Polar compatable, you can see your heart rate on the machine as well as the watch.

The one thing that I wish was different is the ability to download training programs from the website to the watch. The online tracker allows you to create more customized programs but unless you manually recreate the program on your watch, you can't get the online programs onto it.

All in all though I love the watch and would definitely buy it again.

I love have these at home for days I can't make it to the gym and for doing P90X. They feel really good in the hand even without gloves, perfect for home use.

If you are considering buying this, maybe you should donate your money to me instead
For the price of these dumbbells you can buy a gym membership for a good 3 years. Go out and buy some dumbbells that are within your personal restraints. Buy an actual fitness machine that will work your entire body instead of your arms. Whatever you do, don't buy this because it will probably end up sitting in a closet in a month or two and collecting dust because it will not help you achieve your fitness goals.

OH YEAH...These are great
These are great weights, I was debating on what to purchase but I decided to go for the SelectTech's because of convenience. I had been using a set of 20 pounds but that just was not enough weight for me unless I wanted to increase reps. Anyways I've been doing the P90X workout routine and these are easy and convienent to change the weight. In short they are quite pricey, but if you were to buy a whole set of seperate dumbbells then the price would sky rocket plus it would take up to much space, as I live in a small house. Okay enough about these. Just buy them if you have the money for it, well worth the money.

I bought the Weber Q320 off the shelf at Noveys in the Republic of Panama for about $100 over list price, typical for US imported products in Panama. I been using this product an average of 4 days a week and I love it. The design of this Q is brilliantly engineered for precise cooking control, durability, ease of use, portability and maintenance. I just hose it off about once a week with a pressure nozzle inside and out then lightly spray inside with Pam. After a year of heavy use, all components are in near perfect condition. I have since ordered another Weber Q320 from Amazon for my son who is also an avid BBQ cook.

I'm rarely tempted to share my opinions - probably because I'm lazy. However, I'm happy to write about my very excellent Weber Q320. As new residents of New England from California, and having left the cruddy old gas grill behind, we shopped extensively for a new grill. We were looking for a midsize grill with indirect cooking - and this has it. I must say that the gigantic box was intimidating - but the kind UPS guy put it in the garage where I could ignore it for awhile. I hesitate to say the the ease of assembly is the best thing about this grill; but it was the most unexpected. I put it together by myself (I'm 56) without a hitch on a dreary day in late winter. It's glorious spring now and we're grilling almost daily. The automatic ignition works flawlessly, it cooks extremely well and is easy to clean. I have no complaints and am amazed at the little details like the automatic-on grill light.

It is too heavy and bulky to return but so expensive; I am sad I am stuck with it. For starters the accessories are a few milimeters short and if you dont have a lot to mix you should use a hand mixer because you may not reach the batter, but far worse than that is that it is and has been since I purchased it, temperamental. I have to bang and smack it to start it up. I wonder how long until it doesnt work at all. Comedic but inneficient.

Why do people love this mixer?
I'm a SAHM who cooks almost all our meals and love to bake so I'm wiling to pay money for a quality machine that will make my life easier. This mixer isn't it! The design is horrible--unless you buy the extra pouring shield, it is nigh impossible to neatly add ingredients without turning off the mixer and removing the bowl. The beater-junk! The plastic chips off almost immediately, and heaven forbid you drop it. The bowl design is also terrible--there's a big hump at the bottom, which creates a well that causes dry ingredients to stay dry. This occurs even when I use just the bowl and a spoon to mix. Terrible!

And why do they only include one bowl? Every mixer I've ever bought came with two--a small and a large, which is very handy when mixing dry and wet ingredients separately. For the price they couldn't include one more steel bowl? Because of the one size and design of the beater movement, forget scraping the sides with a spatula. You'll have to remove either the beater or the bowl to do it with this design.

I have, however, had ok luck with the dough hook and making bread dough. Except that the dough hook's plastic is chipped along the seam, which is odd since I've used it maybe a dozen times. So while my motor hasn't burned out as others have complained, my bread has contained little flecks of white plastic coating.

I don't understand why people rave about KitchenAid mixers. I have a Cuisenart food processor--that's worth the money. It's clearly better than any other processor I've owned, I use it almost daily and it's still in perfect shape. But my KitchenAid mixer is a heavy hunk of junk that I can't even Craigslist because it's missing plastic on the attachments. I should have gotten a Sunbeam.

When my new Brother serger arrived I could hardly wait to open, watch the DVD and try it out. I do a great deal of sewing, some for other people and was lost when I could not get my old to work anymore. What a surprise when my daughter found one I could afford on Amazon.com! I do not put it away as it is in use at least three or four times a week. And, it's so much easier to thread.

First time serger for me and after watching the instruction video I could do it and make it work. I have used it several times and I like it. Havent done anything fancy with it but for everyday use to fix a garment or sew a blanket it works like a charm. would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple serger to sew with and after 3 years it still works with no problems.

This product is awesome!! My cousin had one and after seeing him demonstrate it, I just had to have it! You can brew a hot cup of coffee in less than 60 seconds--it's so convenient for someone with a busy life!

Fantastic Addition to Our Kitchen
I am not a multiple coffee cup kind of guy. On occassion, however, I want just one good cup of coffee. When I saw the Keurig system I decided to give it a try and I am very glad I did. Gone are the old days of wasting coffee and time. The system works great and looks great too. Couldn't be happier. The comments about noise and problems with the coffee not being hot enough are jevenile. This system works as described and makes a great cup of coffee in under a minute. Worth every penny.

Great Coffee Maker
I absolutely love my Keurig, and I'll tell you why...I'll also tell you why I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought the Keurig when I decided to purchase a traditional electric coffee maker, but the good quality coffee makers were all the large 12-cup kind, and the smaller ones weren't very good. Amazon reviews pointed me to the Tassimo and Keurig pod-type machines, which turned out to be the perfect solution.

First off, I think it is a well-built machine. After a couple of years of use (granted, I don't use mine every single day), it's still running strong. I like the aesthetic styling of it, and it fits okay into the tiny amount of counter space I have available. I like being able to make a single cup of coffee for myself easily (I can even set the timer to have the hot water ready when I get out of bed, so coffee is instantaneous), or fill up the tank and have guests each pick their own drink, tea and cocoa (haven't tried the cocoa yet) included.

As for the quality of the coffee, I've had many good ones, but you have to find what works for you. Not all of the pods will brew to the same strength. If you like your coffee strong, or want to fill a giant commuter mug, try the "Bold" varieties. (Or maybe 2 pods for a huge mug). Personally, I went out of my way to find a smaller thermal container that is only about 12 oz., since I don't drink my coffee by the gallon. But even the larger mugs were easily filled with a good strength of coffee when using the bolder blends. My current favorite is Coffee People Donut Shop, but I'm also a fan of the Green Mountain Bold varieties.

I have also bought and used the refillable K-cup, which is not bad, and I still think cleaning that out is easier than dealing with wet, drippy filters full of coffee grounds or even my old French Press. The trick is to find a coffee that works for your preference for brew in this size.

Now, for the reasons it gets less than a perfect 5-star review:

1. The less than "green" aspect of the Keurig: I hate throwing away another disposable plastic item each time you use a pod...I'm pretty conscious of the amount of consumer waste I generate, and this works against that. (The reason I bought the reusable K-cup). On the other hand, I'm still probably generating less trash than back when I went to Starbuck's and threw away a double layered cup, lid, and java jacket each day...

I saw one review complaining that it's on all the time...well, turn the damned thing off, there is a power button. I actually unplug mine between uses, so I can't say power-consumption is an issue.

2. I have a little trouble really cleaning the tank. I have found that if I have not used the machine for a while and left water in it, it will start to grow algae (?) in the little hard-to-reach corners of the water tank. These have proven difficult to clean out, and I finally resorted to buying pipe cleaners that I can bend and fit into the areas the sponge and bottle brush can't quite get to. Not a deal-breaker, but kind of a pain.

That being said, I was still hard-pressed not to give it a full 5 stars, because I do love it so much. I have recommended this to others, and I'm pleased to see the popularity of these rising, as I can now find the cups more readily available, when I'm not filling my own.

Upgrading my 20+ year old Ultrapower to the Pro 6
Got it today, love it. Wasn't sure I was going to like the bowl lift, but I do. It will take a little getting used to, having had the other, but I think I'm going to like the lift and the stability it offers for mixing heavy things.

The mixer is powerful, it's got a great capacity, and it's beautiful (bought the Pearl Metallic). I'm just lookng for things to make in it tonight. Already mixed up lasagna filling, think I'll whip up a batch of cookies after dinner, maybe a cake, and tomorrow I'll make some bread.

I have always loved Kitchenaid. I can remember my mother had one when I was small, and she had the grinder attachment and used to grind beef. Buy this mixer before the end of May and you get a mail in rebate which is for a free ice cream maker attachment. (There was a guy looking at the mixers with us in the store and he said he loves his ice cream maker attachment. So we're looking forward to receiving it).

I have always had wonderful customer service from Kitchenaid. During a move he little knob on the lock handle of my Ultrapower broke off. I phoned them, and they just sent me a new one, free. Then I was storing it on a wire bakers' rack and lost a little rubber foot. I emailed them and within a week, a set of replacement feet arrived in my mailbox--free.

I also have their 10 speed hand mixer with dough hook, whisk, stirrer, and beater attachments, and I love that and bought a similar one for my daughter (who, at age 25, bought her own Kitchenaid stand mixer last month as a housewarming gift to herself).

If you're considering this product, you can't go wrong. It's an excellent mixer made by a reliable company that stands behind their products.

Just Lovely
I picked this up at $269.99 plus a $50 rebate in licorice back in November. Slick deal.

I've been wanting one of these for the longest time. Some complain about the motor noise, (but hey, this thing is power, expect this baby to hummmm) but it doesn't bother me. It mixes, and paddles well, and the parts and unit are solid. The end results are consistent. This thing is powerful, and built tough. Lift bowls just make more sense, as all the pro's use. Tilt heads just seem like they take more of a beating on the unit.

Wow-what a machine!!
I purchased this mixer a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier with it. If you love making bread, but hate the ugly look of bread machine bread, this is the mixer for you. My bread machine has been collecting dust for years and now I can finally send it off to Goodwill. I debated between the 5 quart and 6 quart mixer and would recommend the 6 for most people. The bowl is roomy and the 600 series has more power than the 5. I am not a big baker, but have done a couple batches of cupcakes which it whipped up quickly.
Lots of colors to choose from too. I picked nickel pearl, it matches my kitchen and does not show every speck of flour after a quick wipe down.
The only improvement I would suggest is to make the attachments dishwasher safe. Other than that it is a great machine that should last for years.

Works like a charm
This is my 4th bread machine in 26 years and it is great. I appreciate the fact that it looks like a loaf of bread. Their directions are clear and I have always found that it is best to follow the manufacturer's before adapting your own recipes. This is a very quiet machine. I prefer the lighter setting when baking a loaf, maybe that is just me.

Poor Bread Quality
I've been baking homemade bread for over 15 years. Have just recently turned to bread machines. I went through two Breadman machines in the past 18 months. While the Breadman's produced very good bread they were poorly designed from a mechanical perspective...kept breaking down.

So I thought I would "splurge" and get the Zojirushi BBCCX20. What a mistake!

The Zojirushi is well designed mechanically...very sturdy. But in over 20 attempts, trying various Zojirushi and other recipes, I cannot produce what I consider a good loaf of bread.

I will probably go back to making bread by hand.

Wonderful
I am a consumate cook, I cook nearly every meal our family eats at home. But I have only made bread a few times in my life, and I don't care much for impractical kitchen gadgets or machines, but this bread machine is terrific, simple, and makes an incredible loaf of bread. I highly recommend it!! Two of our family members are allergic to wheat- so we were a little weary if we could actually produce a good tasting loaf of non-wheat bread from a machine. Yes . . . . Yes. . . yes!!

The Breville juicer is awesome
I have been through a number of juicers in my life. A number produced good juice but with a MAXIMUM of effort especially when it came to cleanup time.
I now make several days worth of apple juice, carrot juice, and a berry mixture (good in OJ or by itself) and do a full cleanup in around an hour. And it's true this machine even juices complete apples (medium to small).
The only issue I have had so far is having the juice collecting jug overflow because I am juicing fruit at such a fast rate.
This is a very good product and certainly worth the price. It also makes a healthy life-style a whole lot easier to maintain.

The Juiceman Cometh
Breville to my rescue! It's been about four months now since my purchase of this juicer. It arrived quick and in tact. On my first use of this "powerful" machine-I notice a slight lost of lower sound registery in my ears....so, on the next usage of the juicer I used cushioned ear plugs. It solved the issue, but this seemed a bit counter productive. With more usage and without the ear plugs...I no longer notice any lower ear sound lost issue. Just to note...the hearing bounced back. After a couple of hours on the first use- I guess the motor had to calibrate after the first run. The wide nossle makes it extremly easy to toss whole fruits like mid-sized apples, large cucumbers without chopping. The torq on this machine is amazing. I had a Jack Lalane Juiceman for years (9). The J.L. juiceman was still working and I gave it to a friend and upgraded to this stronger Breville 800 JEXL. In comparision to the J.L. juiceman the one thing I find a tad flemsy on the Breville is the mesh screen that traps and extracts the juice. When I wash it with the scrub brush that comes with this product it seems as if with a little more force the mesh might pop out of its joint/frames. With the J.L. juiceman the mesh screen was very sturdy and not as flemsy as the Breville. Clean up on this product is not as time consuming as one think. This machine is a warrior configuration-built to last.To save on clean up, I simply place a plastic bag in the pulp container and toss it out afterwards. This is a "GOOD" investment for anyone looking to bump up their health regamine. I had my doubts at first, but with one use-you'll be glad you invested the money in this baby!

Close to perfect
Excellent juicer. Last part of whaterve your juicing always causes a loud "clunck" sond as it shoots it to the waste basket, but it sucks all the juice out of everything. Not too loud considering its power. Very easy to clean, assemble and disassemble. Great buy.

The One to Get
If you like buying quality tools that last a long time this is one to get. Make sure to get some Bosch
jig saw blades as well, the reverse tooth blade is excellent for laminates. I'm glad they provide a case
it helps protect the saw, and there's plenty of room for blades as well as the long power cord.

Lame
As already mentioned, the precision control feature causes the saw to wander. Also, although the shoe has a center dentant at 90 degrees, it's so sloppy that it is useless. Setting this thing to 90 degrees is a trial and error process requiring a square. My old $39.00 black & decker cuts better than this thing.

just purchased this saw after using a Sears jig saw for the last 25 years. what a difference. no vibration, accurate and easy to control. the Bosch blade cut through the wood easily and accurately. pleasure to use. used it to cut 1x10's for a basement window box and the cuts were easy and accurate. will never try to avoid using this jig saw as i did with the Sears.

Must get rousseau 2700 with this saw. Table saws are for ripping. Throw away the miter gauge and makita factory fence. The rousseau besenmeyer fence will do it all. Get an outfeed roller. Light, portable, strong. Want to build fine furniture, get a $4000, 500 pound Delta. Want to bevel rake boards and rip plywood or 2x. Get this one.

Makita table saw
I have had one of these for about ten years. I mostly use it on the job for ripping 2x material. It is light weight and stay very accurate even after years of use.

plenty of power
I've owned this saw for seven years now and couldn't be happier. I use it with the Rousseau stand and one wing extension which in my opinion is a must have for the professional contractor. Forget the lousy miter slot, that's what a good cabinet saw in the shop is for. On the job I assume most have a good chop saw with them for crosscuts. The fence is ok I guess for a quick cut when you need to pull the saw out in a hurry and don't feel like dropping it in the stand. For the most part I use the fence with the Rousseau stand which also is less than perfect if your trying to cut to the nearest 64th. This saw has flawlessly cut through some of the thickest lumber (even wet) that I've pushed through it (as long as it's not twisted)

My saw has been left out in the rain more times than I care to admit and still works as good as day one. A thorough cleaning of the mechanics with Paslode's cordless gun cleaner and a good spray lubricant has kept the raising and lowering gears running smooth. The brake system is a must have and still works great after all these years.

A buddy of mine was set up next to me with his brand new Bosch table saw and couldn't get it to cut through a wet 2x6 in one pass without bogging down the motor...He pushed it through mine effortlessly and to say the least was a little unhappy. To be fair with the Bosch, he was running a higher tooth blade more suited to finishing, but so was I...To make him feel better I told him "But yours looks really cool"...

Nice job Makita, don't ruin a good thing.

This and the bosch are the only two saws worth considering for any type of finish work. The upfront controls of the bosch make it my favorite site saw, but the large table, lower price and less need for the quick bevel adjustments make the makita perfect for my shop. Hitachi saws are great for exterior trim and framing due to their light weight, but don't have the features that make the difference in trim work. (not to mention the fact that i cannot stand the noise they make) Dewalts are good saws, but also lack some features. These are the only saws worth considering; 1 Bosch. 2 makita. 3 DeWalt. 4 Hitachi (unless you are totally loaded then go for the festool kapex!)

Awsome and RELIABLE after years of use!
I purchased this saw 8 years ago to do a few deck jobs. Not only was it great for doing the decks, it is also an excellent saw for doing finish work! Never before have I been able to do near perfect finish work until I got this saw. I'm now on my 4th carbide blade, and this saw still works flawlessly. Unlike my DeWalt circular saw, where the saw brake no longer works, the brake on this saw still work perfectly even after 8 years of use, and yes I have to admit abuse too. If you are looking for the perfect saw that can do rough work the beginning of the week, and one to do finish work the end of the week, this IS the saw you want. Yes I've used some of the other BIG brands, but they don't compare in the ease of use of this MAKITA Dual Slide Compound Saw. If something ever happened to this saw, I definitely would buy it again!

4000 vs 4500 are 4 years apart
I bought my 4000 about 4 years ago - since then they may have updated the firmware but it had one nasty bug. If you wanted a continuous plot over time (days lets say) you had to leave the 4000 turned on continuously to gather data. That meant batteries - LOTS of batteries, even though it ran for 3 days on 2 ea AAA cells. It also meant alot of use of the battery door, which has a firm gasket to weatherproof the unit.

In short, the battery door proved to be a weakness - I had an OD and a bright orange unit - both failed on the battery door. Due to the glued up housing design the broken part made the units unrepairable.

Today the 4500 model is available for $35 more and includes many more features, like a compass, and the ability to have the unit power up, take readings, and power down every 30 minutes. So far after 10 days, mine has only used 3% of the batteries taking measurements every 30 minutes for detailed plots of pressure, altimeter, wind speed, and a half dozen other variables.

The 4500 represents the state of the art system which is why I purchased it after destroying two 4000's. You can find the 4500 here:
Kestrel 4500 Pocket Weather Tracker. They also make an OD green version, however the backlight is optimized for night vision goggles which means ordinary eyesight won't see much at all. Unless you are using it with a $4K set of an/pvs-xx goggles then you should buy the yellow cased version which has ample brightness for night use.

I purchased my Calphalon Contemporary set about a month ago, and I'm very impressed. So far, NOTHING seems to stick to these pans! I've even accidentally burned a few dishes (they require less heat that I'm used to), and not even the burned portions stuck to the pans. Clean-up is a breeze. The Teflon is holding up very well, and has proven to be resistant to scratches. The set is very attractive and the feel of it is great - not too heavy, not too light. Being able to go from stove top to oven, is also a great plus. I also purchased the "grill" pan, and I'm very happy with it as well. I'd recommend this set without reservations.

These pans do not last!
I registered for the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10pc set (plus an extra dutch oven in this line) for my wedding 2 1/2 years ago. It was a pricey set--the kind that I wouldn't buy for myself, but registered for, hoping that it would be a durable set that would last my husband and I a long time.

Well, within a year, the two frying pans began to peel their Teflon coating. Now, 2 1/2 years later, 4 out of 6 of the pans I got are shedding their Teflon. I was responsible with them--NEVER put them in the dishwasher, and ONLY used nylon/silicone tools to cook with or clean them.

When I contacted Calphalon, they would "consider" replacing them if I paid to ship the affected pans to them. Even then, I wouldn't get a refund or be able to exchange them for a stainless steel pan in their line, but a replacement of the same pans. We decided to just go out and buy a stainless steel set. We didn't feel like paying a fortune to ship them our pans, just to recieve the same ones in return.

A $450+ set with a Teflon coating that only lasts 1-2 years, regardless of how well you take care of them.

Makes cooking enjoyable!
I bought this set of cookware a couple years ago and haven't regret it yet. The pans are all holding up well. Yes, wear comes with use, but the quality is certainly revealed. These pans clean up EASY, no scrubbing needed. There are some minor stirring marks, but the material has not peeled or chipped. I highly recommend these pans, they make a great mid-line product.

I rate this machine very highly for what it is -- a light-use home blind hemming machine. It's not an industrial model meant to do miles of blind hems -- it's meant to be used hemming a few pairs of pants at a time. Given that, it works wonderfully.

One "knock" against this machine is that it uses a straight needle rather than a curved needle. The people who stress this knock tend to be those who own a curved needle machine! I don't see this as a minus -- it means I can share needles with regular sewing machines instead of laying in a stock of curved ones. Since the needle's straight, the BH-600 forces a slight "hump" in the fabric's hemline when you lock the machine in place ready to hem. Some feel this is a disadvantage -- I haven't found this to be the case.

What a Great Machine!
For almost a year now, I have been doing the alterations and hemming for a local boutique. A lot of the nicer pants and skirts need to have a blind him. Hand sewing used to be the only option, but once this new service took hold, I was getting more and more garments to hem. I started researching a machine that would do this for me. This little gem has been a real life saver. It is very simple to use and the blind hem that it creats looks very professional. This machine allows the user to lengthen or shorten the stitch length and also the depth of the stitch for different fabrics. I don't know how I ever got along without this!
The price is reasonable, the machine is a dream.

I have been sewing for about 45 years (started young) and have been talking about getting an embroidery machine for about 5. I finally broke down and bought this one. I love it. It is an absolute necessity to have computer knowledge with this model as it interfaces with your computer. I would also recommend that your order a variety of threads and stabilizer to arrive about the same time. I hated waiting for my thread order, but had a lot of designs to do by the time it got here. This machine fits all my sewing needs with over 80 built in regular stitches and two hoop sizes for embroidery, plus the digitizing software. Awesome machine!

Lots of fun
This is a great starter machine.. It will pretty much do anything you want...The sewing machine I can't tell you much about..I use it exclusively for the embroidery function. It only comes with the two fonts. If you are going to need script, you will have to find it and download it. It will take almost any format. I have been using it for nearly a year now and have had no problems..The instruction manual is awful It really doesn't tell you anything. You are left to your own devises as far as figuring out how to embroidery....Don't forget to drop the feed dogs when your in embroidery mode. A broken needle in that position can possibly make you have to have it serviced..timing jumps out...If you are just starting out be patient and just keep playing.

This is a fairly nice embroidery machine for the price.It does have a few things I don't like but overall I am glad that I purchased it.The embroidery designs sew out beautifully!And getting a machine that you can hook directly to your pc is definately the way to go! It elimanates pricy design disks and cards.You can find lots of great desings on the web to purchase and download to use on this machine plus it accepts many formats.What I don't like about the embroidery aspect is the fact that the large hoop is not a true 5X7.So I have to resize a lot of my designs to fit the hoop.I really wish they offered a larger hoop as an extra accessory!The digitizing software that comes with the 200 is not that spectacular.You can take simple clipart pictures and turn them into embroidery but nothing too complex and the software dosen't allow you to make appliques.I think you can get better digitizing software elsewhere.It also only comes with 2 fonts: courier and block.You can purchase a disk with extra fonts but the disks for this machine are expensive! I think they run around $200.The sewing part of this machine I rarely use mostly because I have a Euro Pro sewing machine that I sew on and comparing the 2 I am all for the Euro Pro hands down.This machine seams to sew a little "rough" in comparison.Overall I think this is a Great starter embroidery machine at a good price.

buyer beware
this machine is a nightmare. i recieved mine about a year ago and it has been in the shop several times each to the tune of $100 or more. everything has gone out on it, the warranty is a joke. i still have not completed an entire design without it churping at me that the design transmission has been interrupted and cannot resume. go with the brother brand. afforable and reliable.

buyer's regret 3 times over.
This is the 3rd Singer machine that has been nothing but an expensive nightmare. The first Singer sewing machine never once sewed a seam, the dealer made one excuse after another. So I paid someone else to investigate the problem and he found coke caps, chewed off fingernails and assorted other trash in the motor compartment of the machine.I took it back and bought a Janhome and I will never regret it. Machine #2 was a serger. No matter what, it would not stay threaded, or the thread would tangle in masses at the lower looper. This went on for weeks, again it was brand spanking new and had demonstrated beautifully in the store. I returned it and bought a Janhome and didn't regret that either. Then after being Singer-Burned twice, like an idiot I bought this Singer embroidery machine. Again, problem after problem after problem, from thread not running smoothly both top and bobbin, to softwear miscommunication, to it just ceasing to sew for no reason out of the blue. I returned it, I bought a Janhome that was reduced in price as it had been used in classes in a fabric store and it does a flawless job every single time I turn it on. My friend returned her Futura and bought a Brother product that she is happy with. Singer needs to catch a clue about what they are letting slip by quality control. Far too many machines are getting sold that should never have left the factory. I vow to all things holy I will never purchase another Singer product, and I will be ever so grateful for my Janhome machines that never let me down, never cause me a moment's frustration or buyer's regret.

not worth the trouble
This machine sucks..big time. I should've read some of these reveiws before I bought it.I've owned it for almost 18 months and have had problems with it but for maybe 6 months. The bobbin case is very defective...there is a replacement part that I was never notified about when I bought it brand new. I spent money in 3 bobbin holders before I was told to buy the replacement part that was impossible to replace on my own since the screw was too tight. I was told by Singer reps to buy expensive Silky thread and bobbins. This machine was shipped back to the warranty center and they jipped me...it came back just as broken as I sent it. Now they're issuing me an second extended warranty letter to send it to another warranty center. I oretty much am going to get another machine. I make embroidered tops for the Summer and this has cost me alot of sales cause I can't make anything embroidered.

Invest in a more expensive machine. This is an over-priced sewing machine.

After saving some bucks on a cheaper, competitors product,and being totally unsatisfied with their product AND their customer service, I returned it to the "Big Box Store" and purchased this Panasonic from Amazon.com. As the Title states"You get what you pay for"!
Sure this cost more, but the quality is there along with the advertised claims. Not like the "other product".
Delivery was super fast.I've had this for two months now and NO regrets.

So far so good
I bought this oven one week ago to replace a Sharp model R-930CS convection microwave, which I had been using for almost 2 years. The black display on the Sharp was hard to read and the microwave didn't work as well as the $79 one I use at work. It was really a leap of faith to buy another convection microwave expecting different results but I found an outstanding deal on Ebay so I took the plunge.

So far this oven has met all of my expectations. It heats my frozen entrees completely and it does a great job popping popcorn. It even has 3 different levels for popping different sized bags. The sensor reheat works well too.

I've even had a couple of happy surprises. First of all I noticed this oven is really nice looking. Not only are the buttons easier to read than the touchpad I used before but they have a stylish high quality appearance. I also like the ceramic turntable more than the metal one I had before. It may not contain large spills as well but I'm guessing it'll be easier to clean.

The biggest surprise for me has been how intuitive/user-friendly the controls have been. After selecting the function I want to use (e.g. microwave, convection, sensor cook, etc.), the next appropriate button or knob lights up so there's no need to read the text message to know which step to take next. I've barely had to refer to the instruction manual at all.

I haven't had a chance to use the convection oven yet so I'll have to come back and update my review when I do. I guess I'm just not as wary about the convection functions because all of the problems I had with my previous oven were related to the microwave functions. Of course reliability will take much longer to determine too. But so far so good!
